Honestly, the quality was pretty meh. I like the idea of the design and what not *for a travel or pocket sharpener*, and it'd be really great if it worked well. Sadly, it did not. Actually, it worked really well at the start but seemed to get worse and worse after only a few sharpens. I looked into why by taking it apart (which was pretty easy, but it didn't seem to seal up nearly as well afterwards which was another problem.)

Taking it apart revealed a few components. The sharpening blade and the little chassis seemed to be decently designed, and I was wondering if maybe I had broken it or there was a piece of lead stuck somewhere. The whole sharpening assembly slides out from the bottom VERTICALLY, and there's also another HORIZONTAL slide for normal emptying of the shavings.

Upon further investigation, it seems that the blade was chipped on the inside, which would be a manufacturing defect or possibly even low quality steel. It looks replaceable, but I didn't want to spend the time trying to replace a tiny hard-to-find blade for an 8 dollar sharpener. Totally not worth it considering the quality and awesomeness of the other sharpener I picked up for about 15 bucks (The Stadtler 502, also on Â鶹Çø I believe).

Anyway, it also lost points for how easily the pencil moved around when the lead is in the sharpener. It made it a little tedious to sharpen my drafting pencil lead to a fine point.
