If you're playing music through them at an audible level, you will not hear even a rowdy conversation right beside you. Audio quality ain't bad either, certainly not a tin can. The only drawback is you will likely need an adapter to connect its thick aux end to a regular headphone jack. Also it will probably hurt your ears/head from the pressure if you wear it for more than a few hours, but that is a small price to pay for serenity
