鶹 Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
So I was one of those doubtful people always rolling her eyes and mentally thinking 'uh huh, sure' whenever my friends would praise their air fryers. The whole thing seemed like a gimmick. I had a convection oven, why would I need essentially the same technology?
I fully, freely, and humbly admit it now. I WAS WRONG. I WAS SO WRONG!
WOW. I cannot thank Phillips enough for this DREAM helper that has completely and utterly revolutionized my dinners. I can make homemade french fries and sweet potato fries that EASILY rival (or IMO are WAY better) than anything made fresh to order at a restaurant. They come out SO crispy and tender and packed with flavour, and I can indulge in a larger serving because they are practically guilt free - you only need a teaspoon of a healthy oil and you've got a snack that tastes comparatively to something deep fried.
I've made onion rings, chicken wings, chicken thighs, roasted broccoli, roast peppers, even garlic bread - the sky is the limit and this air fryer has not let me down yet.
The controls are very simple and practically intuitive. I felt I only needed to consult my instruction manual for set-up/safety precautions and to look over the presets for different food types. It's otherwise effortless to use. The tray has a built in handle to help you with "shaking" contents mid-cook cycle to redistribute even heating to your food. You can take it apart for easy cleaning once finished and your tray and pan are cooled down.
Upkeep is otherwise very easy and the size of this air fryer is not bulky or cumbersome on my kitchen counter, and easy to store when not in use. The capacity is also perfect for my needs. For example, I can produce enough french fries in one cook cycle to serve about 3-4 people at once (so if you have a larger household keep that in mind.)
I especially love the viewing window that you can light up to peek at food - I've found the "estimated times" for some foods in the instruction book to be way off. For instance, perfect shoestring french fries needed about 14 less minutes or so to cook - so I advise to test your foods as you try them out the first time to make sure you don't overcook. It is so powerful!
Also be very careful to read how to avoid burns when dealing with the hot tray, and how to avoid ruining surfaces due to heat transfer!
Otherwise, I have to give a glowing endorsement. I was wrong and air fryers are kitchen gods. I'll never doubt again!
