I know we hear that but it's true. The game is played the same but the material used to build the toy is very "cheap". Although the description states that it's the big one, the circumference is only 8" which is about 2" smaller than in the "good old days".
On a positive side, it is smaller and lighter than the "good old day" version therefore younger children would be able to handle it better. I personally have not figured out how to control the volume the factory setting is fine with me. There are instructions on how to do it though.
It's still a fun game, I'm happy I bought it and I'm sure that my grand-kids will enjoy playing with it too.
On a side note, I bought the mini-version as a stocking stuffer last year and my grand-daughter (9) loves it.
