I used this product when I went on a 3-week vacation and it worked surprisingly well. It put a big smile on my face when I came back and saw all of my plants were completely healthy. However, I could tell a few of them had run out of water a few days earlier, yet some of the bulbs still had water in them, even after 3 weeks!
Some tips for you:
1) The narrow end of these containers may look different in size and the ones that have a wider tip lose water faster, so keeping that in mind, I saved the narrow ones for my more sensitive plants.
2) Try to keep them as straight as possible for maximum durability. Keeping them at an angle means they would lose water faster. Also, when you insert the bulb into the soil you can see some bubbles or soil particles in the bulb, try to position the bulb in a way that reduces the speed of those bubbles/particles. The slower those particles move the longer it takes for the water to drain.
3) Don't press the bulbs too hard, it's easy to dent them.
