Had gone through two sets of HP OEM 952XL for my 7740 Pro. Way to much money for a little bit of ink. Last straw was yesterday when HP wouldn't back their own new cartridge that had only expired. Turns out the chip gives an error if it's past the expiry date. Nothing wrong are all with the cartridge or the ink, just simply past the date. On top of that I bought it from one of their large big box suppliers who sold it to me already expired! With covid, the store is closed right now so I can't go in to exchange for an unexpired one. HP wouldn't budge. So I searched 鶹 for compatible inks. Most of them have avg reviews. This brand also has mixed reviews ranging from great to terrible. However, their customer service consistently rates excellent and they seem to try their best to make things right. So I took a chance because of that reassurance that if there's a problem with their ink in my printer, they'll make sure to get it working.
Just installed the cartridges and they all work fine. As suggested, I swapped all CMYK cartridges to have the same Smartink cartridges. Didn't take the chance of a glitch by trying only the black (which was the empty one). Colours print robustly on the test page. Alignment was fine. Less than half the price of OEM. I weighed these against OEM and they are within grams the same.
Now I have almost full HP CMY that I pulled out but that's okay because once I get the expired HP one replaced, I can use up the four of them at the same time.
Will be update if heads become clogged sooner or worse than usual.
