Customer Review

I was looking for a camera backpack with very specific size limits so that it could qualify as an "under seat" personal item for a connecting flight on a small European airline. This backpack was one of the few that met those very specific size limits.

    Positives:
    + fits a 16" MacBook Pro
+ removable laptop pouch is a very clever design
    + two trolly straps
    + chest strap
+ side and back access to camera compartment
+ roll-up top compartment is a good design (note that you don't need to "roll up" the compartment if you don't want the "yoga matt" look - you can just flatten it down - like a flap)
+ the material, zippers, etc are all "ok" quality.
+ second flap over back camera compartment (if the zipper fails it will stop your gear from falling out)
+ rubber feet on the bottom (to keep fabric off wet ground)

    Negatives:
    - only one exterior side pouch
    - the single side pouch is made of mesh (not a very durable material to hold tripod legs)
    - smooth interior finish of memory card pockets make it impossible to to attach velcro dividers in this area
    - spot for your main camera is way too "tall" (your camera - even if it's a large pro DSLR - just kinda flops around in that area. Needs an additional divider option.)
    - lacks additional cable pocket or other accessory pockets inside (the back of the main camera compartment flap would be an obvious location for this - but there's nothing.)
    - would have been a better design to have the top compartment clips be able to connect to each other (use one male and one female clip) that way you could tightly roll the top and pinch the straps together - kinda the way a kayak dry bag works - a missed opportunity.
