  Used this to cut some custom mat board for a couple of frames that I made. It is very good for a mat cutter that is not on a track. The result was not perfect, but certainly acceptable. The blade is sharp and cuts about 90% cleanly. I experienced some "unstraight" points in my cut, but that could very well be a lack of skill. If you are considering this, I assume you are a hobbyist or only expect to use it occasionally. To this extent, it is a great buy. If you are considering this for business or professional use, maybe not. The quality of the tool itself is excellent.
