  All that I needed was the thermocouple but it was a bonus to have the meat probe. Once the thermocouple and controller was installed according to labeling on the control board and connectors and wiring diagram , as soon as I plug my PitBoss smoker in the auger starts and does not shut off regardless of the controller setting which is dangerous because the temperature can run away causing an overheat situation. I tried all the temperature settings and gave it some time to react and it just keeps climbing. Swapped it out with my old controller and my smoker works just as designed.
