- Reviewed in Canada on June 28, 2024This is my second Shark stick vacuum - my first is the Rocket & I still love it but it works hard as I am a private cleaner and I needed a backup vacuum. The Power Fin Pet is awesome ! The main difference is that the Rocket has a brush roller which I have to remove human & pet hair and strands from constantly but the Power Fin has no brushes to clean and so far there has been absolutely no strands of anything wrapped around the roller !!! Loads of maintenance time saved!!! The vacuum is light to manoeuvre and transport in my car. The cord is really long which I love - although slightly shorter than my Rocket as it doesn鈥檛 quite reach the places I have previously been able to get to without moving to a closer socket - only a minor disappointment. The Power Fin dust canister is small but completely detaches easily to empty - the Rocket dust canister stays attached to the handle & cable so it is more cumbersome to empty. The Power Fin is slightly smaller and requires frequent empties as I vacuum larger hairier spaces. The filters are easily removed and need shaking and banging to free them from dust clogging and I do this often - daily ( manual says monthly cleans with water) I will do this more often as my vacuum is used alot. I bought affordable spares so I have a few back-ups ! Having owned a Shark stick for a few years I was always irritated that it was top-heavy & wouldn鈥檛 stand up when not in use so I had to lie it down or lean it carefully everywhere 鈥..but I now know that it can be balanced by detaching the top of the vacuum ( handle & Canister) from the stick and it simply clips onto the bottom of the stick & rests above the roller head of the vacuum and won鈥檛 fall over !!! Who knew !!! You live & learn and I love this feature haha !!!
If you need super powerful suction and want to seamlessly vacuum between carpets & hard floors ( with the flick of a switch ) in hairy places, getting under low furniture & into crevices with the 2 tools for soft furnishings and the ability to detach from the stick and have a hand-held vacuum ( I have not used this in my car yet ) you will love this vacuum !
I always felt my other stick vacuum was quite loud but this one is a little quieter so that is another plus.
Nothing disappoints me and Shark stick plug-ins are still my favourite choice of vacuum at a really great price too !
