Heard this movie didn't perform as well as the last sequels in the theaters. Not sure what that's about to be honest cause this movie rocks from beginning to end.Again Tom Cruise has to be commended for being one of the few actors along with Keanu Reeves who truely love what theyre doing and seem to be commited to theyre fans like very few actors are.Without giving spoilers i really liked the story. It's about an A.I. intelligence who's so powerfull that it became independent from thoses who created it.Now it's loose everywhere in the world of electronic systems like bank systems, government computers, central intelligence computers.....ect... you get the picture lol. This A.I. has the power to create quite the chaos if it isn't stop.So it's up to Ethan Hunt(Tom cruise) and his I.M.F team to stop it by finding a special Key.The movie is a roller coaster ride that never really stops. The movie is close to 3 hours but doesn't really feel that long because its a well constructed action movie where every scene in the movie is all needed to the plot and it brings you to each action set piece. And speaking of action there is plenty.Personally i loved the scene in the airport where the police or FBI is trying to locate Tom Cruise but they can't because Cruise's Hi-tech team are using the security cameras of the airport in an unusual way(thats all i'm gonna say lol).Anyways i found it lots of fun.Speaking of fun there also a very fun car chase in the city of Rome where Cruise and his lady friend are handcuff to a car and have to drive while being chase.Very fun scene that look very real. And then there is a great finaly on a train.I can't comment on the 4k disc because i dont have the player yet for it but the included bluray has a great picture quality.Lots of details and depth. The movie was supposely shot in digital cameras but they added a bit of grain over it to make it look like it was shot in film. You swear it was.I liked the image. Now for the sound i dont have overhead atmos speakers but the 5.1 was reference quality.Sound comes to you from all direction during the whole movie.Theres a scene during a desert storm in the begining and i loved how the wind was blowing from each speakers from the back surround to the fronts. It felt really immersive.Just like the chase scene. You could hear cars wizzing by in the surrounds and the scene at the end with the train when it passes in a tunnel same thing happens.Great sound mix.The only weak thing on the disc is the extras wich are short and only like 30 mins in all.Theyre a bit promotional but still show you behind the scenes well. Its too bad we dont like in the era where movies get tones of extras like they use to put on discs.Usually a big movie like this in the past would have had like 3 hours of extras. The steelbook is nice too. That red poster really pops out.
