  This is a great solution for bringing WiFi into our detached in-law suite. There is a continuous underground unused coax from the days of cable tv and I popped one at the main house end and the the other in the suite with an old wifi router on the same network as the main house. Zoomy. I think if there is loads of junctions in the coax it will not be as successful. There are networking diagrams on the web.
