- Reviewed in Canada on January 15, 2016My family has been experiencing muscle pains due to work/health problems, so I bought this in hopes of reducing those pains. I decided to use myself as the initial tester for this product.
SETUP: The manual that comes with it is straightforward and helpful, which made the initial setup really easy and fast. I like how they included the 4 AAA batteries that was necessary for the remote to work too. The remote has options for each problem area that you can place the electrode pads on. I get stiff shoulders from work, so I stuck them there first. The pads are definitely sticky enough and even though they are reusable, I think for long-term use I would buy more replacement pads. And even though I had to get help to stick them on my shoulders (and probably will have to get help for my back too), it was a minor convenience that I can overlook since I know I'm not flexible anyways. Ha.
DURING: I turned the dial to 1 and felt a slight tingle in my shoulders, then I gradually went higher in the intensity to test each level out. When I used this, I could only take the electric pulses up to 6 without feeling slight discomfort (fair warning: 10 was actually really intense, but this shows that this product delivers on their effectiveness). They have the option for Massage, Beat, or Knead. I preferred using Beat and Massage since it felt like gentle pulses were relaxing my shoulders. I also liked how I could adjust the speed as well, but I felt that the default speed was already well adjusted for me. At first, I felt my muscles tense up more and feel like jelly during/after using this (not exactly a nice feeling). But I think this is normal because after all, we are quite literally "shocking" ourselves.
CONCLUSION: I really like this product and I (literally) feel that it works. My shoulders get a lot of abuse since I spend a lot of time doing heavy lifting at work and stay on my computer for long periods of time at home. Once I used this product for the recommended 15 minutes on my shoulders, I felt them completely loosen up which also allowed me to straighten up my back. I'd like to imagine that this is going to help almost anyone with a variety of muscle pains. Easy to use, effective and the price isn't bad either, so I'm pretty happy. :)
