I really enjoy these movies (oddly I prefer part1 the most whereas the masses prefer part2), so it was no surprise it was going to be on my upgrade list from DVD to Bluray. I don't really know if I'm doing a movie review or a quality of the product review - I figure the latter. Once I watched the bluray, it was easy to see there were only incremental improvements over the DVD version. Often sharpness and/or film grain are vastly improved as re-prints occur but I guess studios felt this one wasn't worth too much effort. Having said that, I have a top tier bluray player that up converts to 4K immaculately - so perhaps the improvement was a little muted because my new player also does a fantastic job with DVD media. Sound a little better with DolbyTrueHD, be that as it may it's not an action movie so you really have to appreciate good sound before you notice.
