  When I got the unit I thought it was defective because the machine makes a thumping sound when using the frother. That was my mistake. The frother is supposed to make that sound. Sorry about the initial return. I am learning to admit when I'm wrong. It's a nice little machine. Makes good creamy espresso and the frother makes good foam as long as one uses 3% milk. It's not an industrial espresso machine. If you need a small sleek looking machine to make a few cappuccinos a day, this is the machine for you. Overall happy so far.
