I bought this unit based on two things. First, I watch the manufacturers video in which they talk about attention to high-quality components which will protect your device. Secondly, I wanted a simple way to transfer data from micro SSD cards which I use constantly. First, I will say that I have stopped using the SSD slot on this because it has a data transfer speed of half of my SanDisk USB adapter. Keep in mind I have this plug a bowl connected to a USB-C port on my 2022 model of MSI, leopard laptop. The transfer speed is decent when I have one of the high quality external SSD drives connected to it. What motivated me to write this review happened last night. I primarily use this adaptor with my laptop. However, last night I plugged it into my M1 iPad Pro, so that I could connect an external monitor. I also connected a high-quality power source to this pluggable device to power my iPad. The result is why I say be careful. My iPad froze and I have still been unable to get it to boot. It is just a black screen. So there is only two options, one is that having an external monitor connected through this pluggable caused this problem or using it to provide power to my iPad . Either way, I will never use this device again for these tasks. I鈥檓 going to contact the manufacturer directly to see what they have to say.
