  Other customers have mentioned a burning plastic or chemical smell when operating this product, and some have mentioned that the smell goes away after a while, but I've run the toaster through dozens of cycles (alternating from setting 6 to setting 4 as instructed in the user manual) and the smell just won't go away. I can only conclude that there is a manufacturing error with my particular toaster, as why would I even think of cooking anything in it when it gives off such a stench?
