We had one previously for our older kids but once they outgrew it we used it for frozen pureed garlic and ginger so it now has a heavy garlic smell to it...These trays are definitely thicker and the lids actually go on nice and snug unlike our old one that never stayed on well at all.
Also very easy to remove the frozen cubes from the trays too.
