Two friends and British soldiers, Schofield and Blake, are ordered across No-Man's Land, through German lines to warn off an attack by the Devons Battalion at dawn. The eerie silence of the abandoned frontline trench, itself a feat of engineering genius, plus the cratered battlefield littered with hundreds of half-buried or floating, rotting and rat-infested corpses, give the viewer a taste of what the Great Tribulation must be like! Booby-trapped tunnels, hidden snipers and a crazed pilot with insane blood-lust, plus the murderous and firey devastation of trench warfare, add to the setting of hell-on-earth! This is a strange reminder of a 2002 classic WWI tale of 1917 trench warfare, "DEATHWATCH". Only one survives the ordeal but are his heroic efforts enough to save the rest?
