Very impressive and does way more then expected. Don't understand how to add users to the Bluetooth. 3 other people couldn't figure it out either. I'm sure there's a way but it's very confusing and the instructions found in the help menus don't help at all. Other then that we love it...sooo happy with this lock and the cards are a major time saver. Highly recommend when you have multiple people that need access like the gate we're using it on. Look no further.

So I have been a faithful user of the eSmart fingerprint lock since I got it a couple of months ago but I’ve felt uneasy about it not having a backup key and 2 weekends ago while without a phone because mine decided to randomly die on me in the middle of my phone call to my mother on mothersday of all days well without access to any phone and to my iTunes I was out of luck with access to my security cameras or my cat feeder or robotic litter box along with my smart lock and of course the one day it’s raining cats and dogs and my thumb callous started peeling while in the middle of building a new deck in front of our house and the only other person that has fingerprints in the lock was my wife who was at work at first it was given me some issues with entry because of the water but it absolutely locked me out had I had access to my angle grinder or any cutoff tool I would have cut it to gain access to my own barn as there was some things that needed to be done inside and the tools were stored there since then I’ve realized that it was mostly because of the way my callouses have started peeling from the seasonal changes and just generic changes in work around the house catching up on seasonal projects and the like I haven’t figured out how to best go about that situation but it proved one fatal design flaw that particular lock does not have a key to manually override the scanner and without access to the app and the only other person logged in was 6 hours away from being home and not even having the option to cut the shackle has left me once bitten twice shy but I am still impressed by the robust design and simplicity of use that’s where this beauty comes in as not only is it a passcode based lock it comes with 2 rfid cards as well as 2 manual laser cut keys the lock is a good bit larger than the little brother fingerprint version but it’s understandable considering it has a touch screen and a manual key slot not to mention it has substantially higher battery capacity it was a breeze setting up naming the rfid key cards and it arrived almost completely charged out of the box now that’s a win but with everything good there must be some less than ideal aspects to bring the inevitable balance and although the size is larger as a whole it is substantially lighter weight and it appears to have a separate panel on the backside vs the solid construction of the little brother fingerprint version it feels less secure than the last eSmart lock to everything I can find it appears to be rated for outdoor use but how it will stand up to the east coast Canadian winters is anybodies guess and how long will the internally installed seals and gaskets hold up on an all black lock with the hot July sun bearing down on it half the day every day and the heat generation of the battery charge cycles I know after a year or so of being in your pocket your iPhone will kick it with a few drops of water in the wrong area and that’s simple charging cycles and body temperature that degrades the internal seals that quickly in an iPhone how will the seals hold up in even more extreme climates in a equally sensitive electronic circuit that is very similar in nature if you think about it just significantly scaled down and applied to a different use case and all that for substantially lower profit margins that last part is an assumption based on item value and company scale that’s not to say there’s anything wrong with the eSmart company I believe that they have a well designed product and an excellent app to interface with it there are some oversights or sacrifices made to hit a price point either way it’s neither a good nor a bad thing it’s one of those situations where it just is what it is and that’s ok you skip the key on the entry modle you lower the cost by 30% or better as far as start up and production costs and that price point opens up a significantly larger customer base and I understand that I think it may be a case where mabie my application is such that I should have went with the Heavy Duty version and it is possible that they aren’t quite perfectly suited for my specific applications I’ll give this one an honest shot on my shed so as to not find myself locked out completely of the second most important building on my property and with questions as to overall reliability and it’s less than robust construction when compared to the first eSmart lock I had as well as the manual locks that I have been trusting with a huge part of my barn and sheds security at least the most basic fundamental part of an outbuildings security so time will tell I remain realistically optimistic and have some measures in place as to avoid a recreation of the weekend we were working on the new deck and also wanting to avoid having anyone opportunistically decide to gain entry using force etc. as after having been the victim of two brake and enters over the years one over 15 years ago to my actual house and then just shy of 3 years ago in a completely unrelated part of the province having had my barn broken into right after it was delivered with the caveat that it had nothing but empty totes inside at the time and that the family dog let me know something was wrong outside and led me to more or less stopping that in the process of happening so if once bitten twice shy what happens if your twice bitten right either way I’m hopeful that my concerns are unfounded and that it proves to be a trustworthy part of my family’s home security helping keep our things safe or give the illusion of it at least as well as maintaining my children s sense of security and the only thing to be concerned with at night being checking outside for bears before letting the dog out to water the lawn one last time before bedtime all in all I think for indoor applications or seasonal security and low risk low value property protection I think this is an excellent setup and it has potential to being an excellent part of home security weather or not it’ll hold up to my application is yet to be seen possibly use it while out on my motorcycle to make putting it away upon arrival easier especially come July and August I’d rather not have it idling while I’m unlocking the barn and opening the doors and having to keep track of an extra key is a pain but the rfid card is quick enough that on those oppressively hot days after riding down the transcanada passing cars that it’s not a big deal to hop off to unlock and prop the doors open to pull up the bike not having to shut it down I’m between in which case having to allow time to cool between the time I shut not off amd start it back up again the fuel injected air cooled twin cams don’t seem to care much for that at all so it’s all going to depend on how things work over time but regardless of if it’s used for my main intended application or it’s put to use elsewhere it’s a convenient tool that will help make life better and easier and that’s a win in my books and as of right now it does the thing so what more can I actually ask for right now either way I’m still very happy with this lock as of now

I'm using this smart lock on my storage locker and the standout features for me are clear:

1) You can unlock the lock using four different methods (App, RFID Card, Code, Key)
2) The key works in case you battery runs out
3) You can set temporary guest codes
4) You can manage you users in groups to simplify the management of many users
5) It's a solid lock - I took a hammer to it and it held up with just a few scratches.

Setup is actually quite easy although the app concerns me a bit with a 2.5 star rating in the Apple App Store. It's been find for me and setup was done in just a few minutes but I hope the app is better than it's rating.

A special note on the multiple access methods and why this is important. The keys and cards make good permanent physical ways of unlocking the lock, perfect for kids and seniors. The codes are great because you can have your master code, but then you can give separate codes out to other people (cleaners, contractors, visitors, etc.) and disable them when you don't want that person to have access anymore. You can even setup a guest code that expires on a certain date + time.

I've been using the lock for a few weeks without any issues and I'm good to recommend it to others.

This item was ok until we used it outside, rain damaged the unit, we were very disappointed because we used it in our bnb gate, the company was very concerned and promised to send a replacement unit at no cost to us, we are planning to build a shed to keep it as dry as possible, the unit is not waterproof 100% but the company is aware of the problem and they are working to fix the problem.
