    Why I Got This:
    My hair has been looking a little flat at the roots lately, especially around the crown, and I wanted something that would give instant lift without making my hair stiff or sticky. The fact that this spray offers heat protection up to 450°F was a big plus since I regularly blow-dry and use hot tools.

    What I Liked:
    The biggest standout is the immediate root lift. After spraying at the roots and blow-drying, my hair definitely looks fuller and more voluminous — especially at the crown. It gives that “just left the salon” bounce without feeling crunchy.

    I like that it’s lightweight. Even though it’s an aerosol spray, it doesn’t leave buildup or make my scalp feel coated. My hair still feels touchable and natural. The inclusion of azelaic acid and the 5% densifying complex makes it feel like more than just a styling product — it gives the impression of supporting healthier-looking hair over time.

    Another big win is the heat protection up to 450°F. It’s convenient not having to layer a separate heat protectant before styling. The formula also seems pH balanced and gentle enough for regular use without irritation.

    What Could Be Better:
    The price is definitely on the higher side for a 6.7 oz can. While it performs well, $40 can feel steep for a volumizing spray, especially if you use it daily.

    I’ve only used this spray twice so far, but here are my honest first impressions.

    I apply it directly to my scalp after washing my hair, focusing mostly on the top and front areas. The texture is very lightweight — and I mean actually lightweight. It absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave any greasy or sticky feeling behind, which is super important for fine hair like mine.

    The spray nozzle works really well and distributes the product evenly without making a mess. It makes it easy to target the scalp without soaking the hair.

    And I have to talk about the scent. It’s super pleasant and very light — honestly, it smells really nice. I don’t like products with strong, overpowering fragrances (they give me a headache and feel too much), and this one totally got it right. It leaves that clean, fresh feeling without being loud or heavy.

    After using it, my hair feels light, fresh, and not weighed down at all, which I love.

    This is a 6.8 ounce spray bottle of leave-in root lift spray from Redken. I really like the style of the trigger spray as opposed to a pump. The trigger makes it so much easier to spray the product from any angle without losing strength in my index finger. There is also a handy "lock/unlock" button under the trigger, so I can take this in my gym bag without thinking it will spray all over the place. The product is not greasy, but I find that I do get some overspray, no matter how careful I am. I have to make sure to wipe it off the counter before it dries, because then it's harder to clean off the tile. I stand on a towel now to keep any off the floor.

    My hair is fine, uncolored, and slightly curly. This root spray helps set my curls and doesn't interfere with them at all. I have been using this on my hair after showering. For the most part, I wrap my hair in a microfiber towel, so it is damp when I use the spray. I have also used it as a heat protectant on days that I need to use a hair dryer. I really like the fragrance when I'm spraying it. It seems fresh and I feel like I'm in a salon. The aroma fades as my hair dries. My hair feels soft to the touch after the spray has been combed in and even after my hair has dried. It is not sticky at all. The root lift is subtle, but noticeable to me.

    This has 4 stars due to the sprayer not the product. The sprayer doesn't always stay it just streams instead. If you use a heavy squeeze it sprays better.

    The hold on your hair is fantastic. It's a clean look that doesn't appear that your hair is sprayed. It holds up in rain and wind so that's a plus for sure.

    So this is a great buy if your needing to use hairspray every day.
