Does it require a wifi connection?

The Ottocast Mini Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto Adapter doesn’t need internet WiFi. It uses Bluetooth for pairing and WiFi for data transfer. Plug into your car’s USB, pair with iPhone (iOS 10+) or Android (11+), and enjoy full features.
Does it work with all car models?

The Ottocast Mini works with cars that have wired CarPlay or wired Android Auto. If your car only has wired CarPlay, it won’t support Android Auto with an Android phone. And, it is not compatible with BMW and Tesla.
Does it need professional installation?

The Ottocast Mini Wireless 2-in-1 Adapter requires no professional installation. Just plug it into your car’s USB, enable Bluetooth and WiFi, pair with “CAR2-XXXX,” and connect in 10 seconds. No apps or complex setup needed!
Can it connect to multiple phones?

The Ottocast Mini Wireless CarPlay Adapter supports two phone connections. After setup, it auto-connects to the most recently used device. Switch between phones easily with the adapter’s button.

My 2021 RAV4 has CarPlay, but not wireless CarPlay. I already have a wireless adapter for this, but it’s been quite unreliable. I goes through times when it just will not connect, and other times it takes an age for it to.
This device comes in a really small box, along with a USB C adapter, and a 90 deg USB socket. There are instructions included, but really it’s so simple to get up and running.

Pair my phone with Bluetooth, which is immediately recognized, and away we go. The connection is quick, and there is a confirmation note on my cars screen. So far, it has worked flawlessly and hasn’t dropped a connection. CarPlay is really snappy.

Another thing is that this device is tiny, where my old unit was pretty big. Now I have more room to shove other stuff where this gets plugged in.

The Mini 2025 has definitely made my daily commute a bit more pleasant. The wireless CarPlay connection is a game changer. No more fiddling with cables, which was my biggest gripe with my car's built-in system. It connects quickly and reliably most of the time; I'd say about 90% of the time it’s seamless. The rare occasion where it doesn't immediately connect is easily resolved by a quick restart of the device. The improvement to the overall user experience is significant, just being able to toss my phone in the cupholder instead of having a wire snaking across the console makes a big difference.
