So, I'm relatively new to most things robotic. And I'll admit to being slightly overwhelmed initially setting things up with this.
But, once I figured this out and got things going I'll have to say I was pretty amazed and Impressed!
This product exceeds most of my expectations in every situation. Just how it literally covers every square inch of a room and adapts to every environment is incredible.
I literally get a kick out of just watching this thing go about it's business!
The quality of this device seems to me to be top notch. It does everything that the manufacturer describes it to do without any issues what so ever.
It's quiet and pretty quick in my opinion.
The cats only enjoy this and they just sit on the back of the sofa and watch this new addition to the house move about.
This is a crazy piece of cleaning technology that I am actually going to enjoy having in the house. It brings things to a new level.

I am really liking this vacuum so far. It's quick and easy to get it set up -- you follow the included Quick Start guide and you've got it put together and you're up and running on the app in 10-15 minutes. You then go through a mapping process where the robot goes around the perimeter of each room, creating a map that you can see in the app. You can then tweak the map as needed: separating or merging rooms, renaming rooms, etc. The app gives you the choice of cleaning every room or selecting one or more rooms and then cleaning them. You can customize the suction level, how wet you want the floors to be, and you can even have it repeat each room up to three times in a given cleaning session for extreme cleaning.

As far as the efficacy, it's reasonable. I won't say it's great. If you're expecting spotless floors, you'll be disappointed. It misses a lot and you definitely need to turn it on the Turbo suction mode, which requires more battery power. Still, it leaves your floors looking and feeling clean and it's definitely better than nothing. We run this thing each day and our floors feel great. We then do a "real" vacuuming on the weekend and we find this routine to work really well.

The mopping aspect is nice -- it does leave the floor feeling clean and when you look at the dirty water tank, it's clear that it is indeed taking dirt off your floors. However, "mopping" here is a bit of a misnomer. It's wiping your floors with water. It will not scrub or lift any stuff that is really stuck to the floor, and you're instructed not to add any cleaning solutions to the mop water, so it's really just giving your floors a wipe. Still, as I noted, it leaves them feeling nice and clean.

The app is fantastic. You can specify which floors are made of which material (e.g., carpet, tile, wood) and you can even specify the direction of the flooring and tell the robot to clean in the same direction as the flooring. It's pretty cool.

The robot does a great job maneuvering around rooms and obstacles, and it's reasonably quiet. It is considerably louder on the Turbo suction mode, but still not super loud. I run it on our main floor while everyone is in bed, and so far no one has complained. The robot automatically determines whether your carpets / mats are, and it will raise its mops whenever it goes over any of them. You can configure it through the app to do all your carpets / mats first in a cleaning cycle, which I like. It first vacuums my mats and then it goes back and vacuums and mops my floors.

It returns to the dock as needed to recharge, empty its dust bin, and/or wash the mops. So far, it's been working really well for us overall and we're pleased with it. It's a fantastic solution if, like us, you're a busy family and you have very limited time to clean.

**TL;DR: This is a solid robot vacuum, but it is mostly inferior to the comparable L40 Ultra (non CE) model while being far more expensive on �鶹�� at the time of review. This is a 5 star budget option at the right price point, but is not a good value proposition at the base price compared to other Dreame vacs.**

Last year, I picked up the Dreame L40 for the main floor of our house. It has been an excellent experience, cleaning consistently and navigating quite well. As a result, I was eager to get my hands on a newly released 'L40s Ultra CE', for the upper floor of our house, and curious about what the 'CE' meant.

After a side-by-side look and some cleaning tests, it seems the CE model is basically a less advanced version of the original version. Notably, this model:
- Does not have an AI camera that provides better obstacle detection and a breakdown of different obstacles in the Dreame app
- Lacks the extendable sweeping brush and mop pads (they rotate in place on the unit and do not extend, reducing coverage and requiring the vacuum to swing around a bit more to clean corners/sides)
- Does not self-clean the mop pads with hot water, but does dry them with warm air

In return, you get a slightly more powerful vacuum (13,000Pa on the L40s CE vs 11,000Pa on the L40), the TriCut roller brush, and a slightly lower profile. Helpful features to be sure, but certainly a step down overall. Don't get me wrong: the vacuum is still quite good! Setup in the app is incredibly easy, the vacuum still navigates reasonably well, and for the most part cleans about as well as my original L40 even if it takes a bit longer to do so. I would be happy to recommend it... at the right price.

And it's that 'at the right price' that leads me to a rating of 3/5. At the time of review, the Dreame L40 Ultra is on sale for $810 CAD, while the Dreame L40s Ultra CE is on sale for $1300 CAD. There is literally no reason to get this model over the base L40 Ultra, and it bothers me that this new version is a downgrade in both functionality AND value.

The Dreame L40s Ultra works and it works really well. The set-up is super easy (10 minutes) and the app works well. The robot maps your floor out easily and the vacuum and cleaning is surprisingly thorough. Emptying out the tank of dirty water is easy. The only downside is that the cleaning solution is small so you'll need something new at some point within 6 months (most likely). The app is very detailed with lots of preferences and options for how you want the robot to operate. Once connected to the internet, you no longer need Bluetooth to operate the vacuum. There are pet and object avoidance settings. There are several mopping and sweeping settings. Cleaning is efficient and you can do a small floor with vacuum and mop within an hour and a half which is impressive. Overall, this feels like a very premium product and it's an impressive futuristic-looking robot vacuum and mop!
