1.0 out of 5 stars Unless you are living by yourself with no pets, probably should not buy this
Verified PurchaseThe sound is ok, not good but ok. The mic picks up a fart from the other room. Aunt, I have to play with it unmute the entire time unless I'm in the house by myself because the mic is so terrible.

4.0 out of 5 stars Impressive sound I never used Headphones before always 7.1.
When gaming I use a 7.1 home theater set up. So I was hesitant to get headphones cause I love the surround sound and really deep base. This headphones definitely made me wonder why I have not gotten a pair before. I can turn up the volume using the provided quick knob for extra juice or turn down if too loud or emergency. I like to use these during the late gaming nights to keep from waking up the family. Wearing these long periods of time and they are really comfortable. I don't even get indentation in hair. Mic is clear and when using home theater others not able to hear loud background as I do it's minimal. Comes with a cool carry case also thats a plus. The wire could be a nuisance took a while to get used to. Major go for sure.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Inexpensive Headset
This headset is an awesome affordable option. It's well-made and provides pretty good audio. The mic is decent too. Wish the headset was a little lighter and more comfortable but this is good if just being worn for a couple of hours. Can't beat the price for this quality.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lightweight, comfortable, decent sound quality
Are you looking for the BEST headphones? Because this definitely isn't it. What this IS is a lightweight easy to plug into a 3.5mm jack and play kind of headset. It's very comfortable, the ear cushions are relatively breathable while the headband itself is thicker foam that is less breathable, but still comfortable. What I like perhaps the most is the matte finish ear cups. None of that glossy smudgey business. I have no idea why anyone manufactures headphones that way. Aside from that, there's not much more beyond that. These are simple, effective, the sound quality is okay, but that's kind of what's expected here. The build quality is pretty nice and it feels like it won't snap from normal wear and tear. The comfort level is really what shines most about these headphones.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable and sound quality is good. Nice design touches
I’ve had a fairly inexpensive paid of headphones for a few years and they’re starting to show their age. This set looked like a good upgrade and I’ve had a few Razer items over the years. I still miss my old Razer Boomslang so I was hoping that I’d get the same quality results from this headset as from that mouse of long ago.
While the specs of this headset are similar to many in this price range in terms of driver size, impedance, and frequency response, I think where these come out on top is comfort. Since the cups go all the way over the ears, they do a better job of both blocking out sounds in the room and spreading out the pressure. I also never had thought about how much a wide headband helped until I compared these to my old set.
I did do a comparison of listening to a headphone check test with both this Razer headset and my old ones. Once I got the sound level dialed in to make them as comparable as possible, I’d have to say that it felt like I could hear both lower and higher frequencies ever so slightly better in the Razer headset. It’s possible that it was mostly due to the over-ear design instead of an on-ear style.
While I prioritize function and comfort over style, I can tell there’s a few touches that show nice attention to detail. I guess I would summarize them as: Cord strain, cushion, and controls.
The cord strain relief isn’t a small rubber cover but is beefier like a power cord. This means that if you pull the cord, you'll likely pull them off your head instead of ripping the wire out from the headset. Definitely better than destroying a headset.
I can also see that the cushions over the ears are actually made from two different materials. The material in contact with your head is more breathable while the other surfaces are an easily cleanable plastic. The breathable parts might be more challenging to keep clean since I can already see the material picking up dust and debris.
In terms of the controls, having volume and mic mute on the headset might be nice for some while others are used to having it on controls on the cord. I liked having volume on the headset for quick adjustments but didn’t really use the mic mute. Still nice to have the controls so readily available.
A few final thoughts: Even after wearing this for at least an hour, I didn’t feel any major heat build-up on my ears or pressure from the headset squeezing like the old set. I’d say that this style is definitely suited for music, gameplay, or long periods of focus or listening. Given how much it blocks out external sounds, it might not be great if you need to also hear what’s going on around you. If I had one complaint it’s only that I’m used to taking off my old headset in a certain way so I don’t get the cord tangled or knock something over. Since the size of the cups is a little larger, I’ve had to adjust how I remove them. But if that’s the worst complaint I can come up with you know these are a good all-around set.
Overall, I believe that this was a nice upgrade and I’m looking forward to retiring the old set.
