    One of the most challenging aspects of having a sick toddler, is getting them the medicine they need in a safe and efficient manner. Let’s be honest, some of these medicines taste awful, and its hard enough trying to take care of a sick baby.

    The Frida Baby medicine pacifier has been a game-changer in this regard, which allows you to deliver medicine directly to the side of the cheek and bypass their tastebuds. It has accurate measurements on both sides of the syringe in 1mL, or 0.625 mL increments which follows some widely used dosages. It also doubles as a stand-alone pacifier with the use of the pacifier tab. Overall, I cannot recommend this medicine pacifier enough, as it has helped immensely in delivering some awful tasting medication, and keeping baby healthy and happy!

    I initially thought this product was a bit superfluous, as you can just use the syringes that come with a lot of infant cold medicine, but when I received it and really took a look at its features, I came to appreciate its usefulness. This isn't just a straight-forward syringe, but rather a syringe and pacifier combo that feeds into one another - the syringe is made to fit right inside the included pacifier and deliver medicine to the back of your baby's cheek, bypassing their taste buds so they aren't really tasting the medicine (we all know how those flavours go...). So really it's a pacifier-based medicine dispenser, which I think is really ingenious. So it may seem like a bit of an extra when you're just browsing, but it's a huge game-changer in times of urgent need.

    I think the concept of this medicine pacifier is great. It’s easy to use—you can channel the medicine through the pacifier using the syringe as shown in the pictures. The rest of the nipple functions like a regular pacifier, which helps soothe the baby and encourages sucking.

    It’s nice that you can use different syringe sizes, but I do wonder about the cleaning aspect. It doesn’t look like the inside of the channel can be opened for deep cleaning, so I’ve just been rinsing water through it. That might not be enough over time, especially for sticky meds.

    One thing to note: the medicine channel is on the side of the nipple, so make sure you’re using it in the right direction to deliver the medicine toward the baby’s cheek (which helps prevent choking). I also found that the medicine comes out quite fast, so it’s important to go slowly when pushing the syringe—definitely pace yourself to avoid overwhelming your baby.

    Overall, this is a clever and helpful tool, especially for babies who are fussy about taking medicine. The syringe markings are clear and allow for accurate dosing, which I appreciate.
