Autofocus is fast and more importantly, it is very quiet. It is very light and matches the camera body's small size too. The colours of the images have impressed me both in photo and video modes. The colours are not clinical. Instead they are natural and almost vintage like straight out of camera. When the aperture is wide open to f1.7 there is some vignetting until you go down to f8.0

Lenses are a major portion of the investment when getting a camera that has interchangeable lenses.

This is an APS-C (crop) lens. I paired it with my full-frame Sony A7iii for testing. I tried it both in APS-C mode and without to get a fuller impression of the lenses capabilities.

As much light as this lens lets in, autofocus was OK - not super fast, but satisfactory.
Sharpness, likewise, was tolerable. Nothing at all impressive, but for someone who is taking casual pictures and not a professional, it would do. If you blow up the pictures though, you might be less pleased.
CA (chromatic aberration) is present but at levels I'd consider tolerable for a casual picture taker. You can get most of it out with post-processing if it bothers you.

Overall conclusion, this is an OK mediocre lens. It will never do for a professional photographer, but this is priced right and performs right for a casual photographer who isn't picky.

When I sell my older a6000 I'll toss this in as a value-add for the package.
