About this item
- 4K True Full-Color Night Vision: Capture 4K UHD images and videos that are bursting with clarity, color, and defined detail from day to night. The lens with F1.0 super aperture captures 4x more lights than coventional F2.0 ones. With 1/1.8" image sensor, it processes lights with higher sensitivity to form vibrant images at night. Paired with powerful ISP module, CX820 reproduces the night without any color distortion.
- Advanced HDR Technology: Experience superior image clarity with HDR. Compared with SDR, HDR brings out more vivid colors, with brighter highlights and richer shadows, delivering true-to-life visuals day or night. With HDR magic, every scene is captured just as your eyes see it.
- Smart Detection & Multi-Layered Alerts: Stay ahead of potential threats with AI detection, capable of detecting human, vehicle, and animal movement. Say goodbye to false alarms. By customizing siren and light alerts, you can warn off intruders with your preset voice messages and varying levels of intense light based your needs.
- 3000K Warm Lights & 4 Modes: With powerful 3000K warm lights, all details are captured in vivid colors even in low light. The warm lights support 4 modes: Auto Mode, Smart Mode, Off Mode, and Timer Mode. Select the one that best suits your needs and ensure optimal performance in any setting.
- Easy PoE Setup: Enjoy plug and play connection with Power over Ethernet technology. Plug in one cable and you are good to go for reliable data and power transfer. Feel free to record 24/7 with various storage options, such as microSD card up to 256GB, NVR HDD, FTP server. Note: Power adapter is not included.

A new design with some enhancements . This 4k POE camera with 180 degree field of view, 6 ghz wifi and colour night vision sounds like a banger. But It might be wise to think about use cases and placement. Before purchasing this unit.
Compatible WITH Reolink NVR: Hw_N5MB01, Hw_N6MB01 or Hw_N7MB01 under the latest firmware version for 16MP. But for Hw_H3MB18, Hw_N3MB01 or Hw_N2MB02, previews in 6MP resolution on the monitor UI. Not support the third-party NVR.
The feature set:
UHD
COLOUR NIGHT VISION: x vision clear ( high ISO ) less noise with higher colour accuracy
Lenses
F/1.0 aperture
sensor
1/1.8" CMOS sensor
infrared
3x infrared LED lights unveil all night details up to 100ft.
dual view
180° PANORAMIC VIEW & MOTION TRACK: The dual-image stitching algorithms, coupled with 4-core SoC, create 180° panoramic views with less distortion & fewer blind spots.
detection algorithm
SMART DETECTION & TWO-WAY AUDIO: Smartly detect person/car/animal movements from other objects, reducing false alarms. Upon motion detection, you’ll receive Push/email instantly.
Two way communication
talk with people by the cam side via 2-way audio directly through Reolink App

The app
SMART USER EXPERIENCE & TIME LAPSE: Enhance your surveillance efficiency with multiple smart features: remote live viewing, custom motion zones, and smart playback (up to 16x speed). Plus, time-lapse condenses long-term events into minutes, facilitating easy observation of transformations.
With all this out of the way, I think these cameras have a particular use case and they are best suited for back alleys and larger swaps of land. Keeping in mind the limitation of their field of view and subsequent lack of detection within it. This means placement is key and you will need to make sure it is positioned correctly.
The good:
1 High resolution images with good dynamic range
2 large field of view that offers a great sense of scale and security
3 power over ethernet.
4 adjustable blind spot ( in app )
5 No fee local storage ( with perches of hub )
minor Issues:
2 night vision is good but is best at around the 20 to 50 meeter range. Beyond this point faces and other aspects such as cloth and ( accessories )become dim.
3 Detection zone failures. Sometimes the camera won't detect a person or object if it is less then 50% in the frame ( example a head and upper torso ) might not trigger the cams auto detect. This has happened on some occasions when testing. Works 95% of the time so not an issue
Final thoughts; 5 out of 5
With this units overall good cost of entry. In your home surveillance setup before purchase. If you own the bay station and other cameras from this company then it will be a great addition to your security setup. But you must always keep in mind, that with new tech their might be some bugs that need ironing out. So always update you're firmware and keep you're troubleshooting guide handy and you will be fine.
- Reviewed in Canada on March 23, 2025I am really impressed with how easy the setup was with this camera. I've heard a lot of good things about Reolink cameras and was excited to try this brand new camera just released this year. It has replaced my older and less feature rich 2k camera. I used a POE switch to power it and it was good to go with a single cable. It powered up in seconds. Using the Reolink app it immediately found the camera and was up and running.
Physical installation was quick the baseplate is easy to secure and the camera twists to lock in place. The camera is easily adjustable on 3 axis. I might have missed it but it would be nice if there was a set screw to lock it into place once you have your ideal setup. The micro sd card is accessible from the top side and not accessible when installed. Be careful when removing the cover the screws are tiny and not captive would only do so on the bench.
Video quality is outstanding! it is crispy clear, details and motion are picked out far away it is honestly impressive coming from my older 1080p and 2k cameras. Night color vision is the big selling point and it is quite impressive. The street scape is VERY clear at night, color details are still there. It is very impressive how well it does in low light. Not as critical but the sound recording is quite good too. In both cases the 25 FPS is a great balance of motion capture and not going overboard on data, cars, people etc.. are all clearly captured.
Motion triggering and recording are excellent! i love that it records well before the event and it is picking up motion at the very edges before i can even sort it out watching the playback, the AI/ML vision is excellent at both detection and classification adding its tags to the clips for easy sorting or filtering. I was looking into an NVR but this does such a great job recording locally on a micro SD card and pulling clips from it that i don't know if its even needed, its works amazing as a standalone device. The onboard alarm is functional, i don't know yet how to link it to any alarms it seems to just be manual for now, but its a nice feature.
UI is great, the app is fantastic to use and setup was quick and easy to use and configure. The processor is zippy all the menus are quick to navigate, nothing feels sluggish or poorly performing. seeking clips, viewing, recording etc.. all works great. I really would be interested to see what chip they put in these cameras as its quite impressive. Also, highly recommend picking up and installing a micro SD card, the added functionality of viewing clips all off the app or web UI is fantastic.
The ONVIF setup is buried deep in the networking menu. I had no problems connecting with an RTSP stream or ONVIF once setup. Just be mindful that by default HTTP, RTSP etc... were all off, consult the app on setup. Likewise its good to see support for alexa and google home and i will set those up shortly. Its feature packed on networking. The timelapse function is really cool but i was running into some troubles viewing the video i made, it is a brand new camera so i will wait for a firmware update. Beyond that there are no glaring issues i can see so far.
Final thoughts, absolute breeze to setup, incredible video clarity, super simple UI, AI motion and classification and local recording are great. The night vision is really well done for clear grain free night operation. I wasn't expecting it to be such a leg up on my older more entry level 2k camera but can't see going back. At this price point i think its an excellent value and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great performance
Verified PurchaseQuality of the video at night is amazing. I have starlight cameras also and color x beats them easily. Build quality is great. The form factor is great to use it on the corners of the house under the soffit. No more filming spiders and mosquitos as it does not use ir and i dont even have to use spotlight. Also have the cx410 that i think has arguably better performance but is a bullet and is only 2k. I will love a duo or trackmix with this color x tech , will buy them on a instant. I think that would be the logical upgrade. Ideal world camera A 16 mp trackmix with colorx and a 6x optical zoom.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great color vision at night
Verified PurchaseThis is a great little camera. I wish Reolink would make all of their cameras color CX, especially the TracMix pan cameras! This camera picks up color very well at night, especially if you have subtle, low light, landscape lighting. This is a solid camera.
I was so sick of my Wi-Fi Wyze cameras never connecting or missing activity. It doesn't do a person any good if they hear something outside and the camera will not connect. Not the case with these cameras because they are directly connected to the router and NVR system. It's almost an instant connection with the phone app!
Having a solid connection via POE and a NVR is fantastic. No problems with connection and no problems with missing event recordings. The phone app is great (could use some improvement in functionality such as a setting to temporarily turn off notifications for 30, 60, or 90 minutes.)
I am so glad I switched over to Reolink.

5.0 out of 5 stars It don't work
Verified Purchase(Note: my first rating of this particular camera was one star since it didn't work, but due to Reolink's excellent customer service regarding the problem, i changed the rating to FIVE stars). As can be expected, I was disappointed with the camera not working and I had to return it....BUT....with my faith in Reolink, after the camera was returned (with no problems..), I immediately purchased a more expensive "Wired Trackmix Wifi" camera and it is absolutely PHENOMINAL! I'm LOVING the Reolink Android app, too! The customer service response is MOST EXCELLENT compared to SV3C customer assistance taking 5-6 days or longer for replies! I have already left an exemplary review of the trackmix camera on 鶹 and intend on building my future security system with Reolink and junking my SV3C garbage. THANK YOU Reolink!!! ❤️❤️❤️
