This BENFEI 4-port 10Gbps USB 3.2 hub is a well-made, compact hub with 2x USB-C ports and 2x USB-A ports, all of them capable of USB 3 super speed. The hub has a built-in USB-C cable about 8" long. If you want to add more ports to the newest Mac mini (the rather small one released in late 2024), this hub can connect to the ports at the back or front of the mini, and is small enough to be mounted either on the top or side of the Mac mini. I like to use hook-and-loop fasteners to keep a hub like this attached to my Mac mini so I get the extra ports I need without having the hub take up extra space on the desk. Having some USB-A ports is handy as I need to connect my mini to an older keyboard and mouse switch with those kinds of connectors.

Nice braided cord to resist cuts etc.. but as with others its sadly a hard wired and short cable but it does have a small strain relief built in and an 18 month warranty.
The switch is rated as USB 3.2 and in testing it held up nicely with every device in hand.
The body appears to be aluminum and not plastic so that could help if used for sustained highspeed xfers which tend to generate more heat than many suspect. The 4 ports being an even split of A and C type should do in most cases.

Unlike others I've tested this one also came with a small carry bag of sorts.. which could be handy with say flash drives, a portable nvme in a case etc.. Nice small addition by this mfr. Same as it came with a dust/dirt cover on the end of the cord. While its not as good as a separate cord it is better than average overall. Some thought has obviously gone into this design.. it loosing a star for the hardwired cord however is a must since that is a big negative in many ways and could lead to premature replacement of the actual hub.

This Benfei USB hub is a fantastic value for a laptop user looking for some extra high-speed ports.

The hub is nicely crafted with a metal body and braided connector. It is very compact and lightweight and comes with a nice carrying pouch to protect it when you are on the go, which is a thoughtful addition at this price point.

Transfers are lightning fast with the 10Gbps connection speed and I have had no issues rapidly transferring very large backup volumes with external drives connected to this hub.

The only very modest negative on this hub is the USB-C connector cord. It's permanently attached to the hub (not removable) and is only 8" long. That may be great for laptop users, but it isn't much help for a desktop. The only USB 3.2 connectors on my PC are at the back of the case, and I was hoping to plug this in and have the hub rest on top of my case for easier access to the highest-speed ports. Alas, the cord was too short to reach the top of the case, so it ended up just dangling from the back of the PC. If the connector was removable, I could have swapped in a longer cord. While this is unfortunate for me, for laptop users I'm sure the shorter cord is just fine, and perhaps even preferable to a longer one for reasons of portability.

This Benfei USB hub is a fantastic value for a laptop user looking for some extra high-speed ports.

My first impression was "this is a beautiful device". The USB connector and the hub itself are housed in smooth aluminum with a blue-grey finish, and connected by a thick braided cable. I really like that it came with a velvet pouch to carry it in, so when I toss it in my laptop bag, the ports will stay debris-free.

The USB ports in this compact hub are all lightning fast.
My laptop was able to transfer files from a USB-C memory stick at 330 MB/s.
The hub provided enough power to run a pair of 2 TB portable harddrives connected to the USB-A plugs, and they could transfer data to the laptop at over 110 MB/s, or between themselves at over 97 MB/s.
The hub stayed pretty cool while I was testing it with devices plugged into all 4 ports.

My desktop PC has just two USB ports at the front - one USB-C 3.2 and one USB-A 3.2. There are more high-speed USB ports at the back, but that's a pain to access. This device worked well to provide me with extra high-speed ports up front where I want them.

This is my second Benfei product, and I'm very happy with it. It easily addresses the port shortage my laptop and desktop both suffer from.

This is a fast USB hub, supports both USB A and USB C ports. Many hubs only support USB A, or has only 1 USB C port. This one has 2 of each. And every one runs at USB 3.2, which is very fast.

This hub works with Windows or Android platform. It is also backward compatible with lower USB version. Even when I use a USB C to USB A adapter, this hub still works. Which means there is no compatibility issue.

I tested to copy big files from USB stick through this hub to my computer. It works very well with no latency at all. For some other hubs, the file transfer may pause or slow down in the middle. This one has no problem, almost the same speed from beginning to the end.

This hub is very small and light weight. Easy to carry. Just the cable is a not long, only about 9". Good when the computer is easy to reach, like laptop. If the computer is a little far away, like on the floor, the cable of this hub is too short.

Overall, this is a very fast USB hub. Small form factor, easy to carry. 2+2 high speed USB C and USB A ports, which are very useful. Backward compatible with lower version USB. I would recommend it.
