This is an authentic POPPY insignia offered by The Royal Canadian Legion, which owns the associated trademark rights and has approved this initiative.
Every year, from the last Friday of October to Remembrance Day on November 11, The Royal Canadian Legion distributes Poppies to remember Canada’s Fallen and accepts donations through the Poppy Campaign to raise funds for Veterans and their families. The Poppy has a long history in Canada. Inspired by Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae’s poem ‘In Flanders Fields’, the Poppy was adopted by The Royal Canadian Legion in 1921 as the official symbol of Remembrance for Canada’s Veterans.
