This is a pretty good cookware set.
It includes a pot, non-stick frying pan, plate, small bowl, utensils and cleaning pad. There is no lid for the pot and also a drinking mug is not included.

The pot is a good 1.3L size with a folding metal handle and a nice leather sleeve that goes over the handle for grip and insulation. This is clever.
Everything packs into the pot and the pot handle closes down to lock everything together. This is also clever.
A mesh bag is included but may not be necessary because of the locking pot handle.

The non-stick surface for the frying pan is handy to avoid needing oil or non-stick spray.
The bowl is small and would be used more like a ladle than a bowl.
The plate is all chrome and a nice size and weight.
Folding utensils with a separate spoon and fork instead of the combinatin Spork. A separate bag for the utensils keep them clean and organized.

This is a really, really nice camping cookware set. It’s a serious upgrade over the cheap old set I used to have. It comes with a deeper pot, a shallower non-stick pan, a plate, a cup/tiny bowl, silverware, and a cleaning sponge. It all folds up and nests within the pan in a very compact package that is held by the mesh carrying bag.

Here are some really cool things I love about this set. All of the pieces are made of sturdy, yet lightweight, 304 stainless steel vs. the crummy thin dented aluminum of cheap sets I’ve had in the past. I love the brown faux-leather pot handle cover that slides on. It’s very classy looking and will also be nicer on my hands when I’m lifting a hot pot off of the fire! I love the matching brown-colored silicone coating of the frying pan handle, too. A classy look and easy to grip.

The frying pan has a safe, non-toxic, non-stick coating, which will make frying up a just-caught fish so much easier – and easier to clean! They even provided a soft scrubbie sponge for cleaning. The plate has a little depth to it so you could possibly consider it a shallow bowl for some oatmeal or some mac-n-cheese. It doubles as a lid for both the pot and the pan. The so-called “bowl” is more like a measuring cup, so I’m going to call it a cup. But it can also be used as a scoop or a ladle. The mesh bag is not only a carry bag, but can also be used as a wash bag, to dunk everything into water and swish it around without losing any items. You can also hang it up by the cord with a carabiner to dry and to keep your tent organized.

But my favorite part of the whole set is the super fun folding silverware! You get a knife, fork, and spoon, and they literally fold in half and fit inside a little pouch that’s not much bigger than a credit card. So nifty! When you open them, they click into the open position and you just slide the tab down on the handle until it locks them in that position so they don’t fold on you when you’re trying to eat with them. The spoon is a decent size, the fork is a little bit flat, and the knife probably wouldn’t cut much – it’s more like a standard kitchen butter knife. Better bring a good blade with you for actual cutting. There’s probably room to snug it into the pan next to the cup when the set is all assembled.

Altogether, this set only weighs 31.7 oz (less than 2 pounds). It is under 3” high and under 7” in diameter. So it’s easy to bring with you backpacking, where every ounce and inch matters. What’s great about it is that you don’t have to have a separate cooking kit and dishes kit. This is an all-in-one package. One of the best camping cooking/mess kits I’ve ever had!

Now, this is some fancy-looking camp cookware. I own several products from Odoland, and I’ve been very pleased with all of them, including this one. The quality is excellent, and it comes with all the essentials. The pot and pan function well and are easy to clean. I especially love how the handles fold around the pot and pan. However, the best feature is that everything packs neatly inside the pot, making this set take up very little space.

Trial by fire… a tale of tabletop fire pit cooking

I have a 7 inch table top fire pit (same size as Mesa Solo XL) and thought I would test this new camping cookware out by making breakfast over the fire pit. It was a fun way to test the equipment and eggs & bacon are always in demand so why not? This is our 3rd Odoland cook set but the first one with ceramic coating on the frying pan so that was the focus for testing. I started by spraying some oil in the bottom of the pan and adding some bacon. Once that was almost ready I added a couple of eggs to the pan. I had the fire too hot and the flame too high on the skillet so it started to melt the silicone on the handle as it was directly in the flames reach. I quickly dumped the bacon in eggs into the sauce pan (but forgot to put any oil in the sauce pan) so the eggs finished cooking and tasted great but stuck it the bottom of the sauce pan. In my 2nd great attempt, I waited for the fire to cool down and the flames to be lower than the fire pit and added more bacon and eggs to the fry pan. This time they came out perfect and easily slid out of the pan and onto the plate.

So, in all fairness, the melted silicone was completely my doing, not the fault of the product. It is hard to control the flame on an outdoor fire pit fueled by sticks. I thought the cook set did well and the food tasted great. The set also folds up very small and compact so it is easy to travel with. It works great with a backpacking stove or even a camp stove. It is also a great reminder to add oil to the pans when cooking items without water. Cook set earned 5 stars and so did the fire pit. This was a fun way to try out the product and a perfect excuse to eat more bacon. Happy trails!
