The go go gadget kit !

The go go gadget kit !
This is legit an awesome soldering iron … fast warmups, can use with small battery bank ! I use the tip casing to store soldering wire and everything fit in the case (I don’t bother carrying the wallblock as I can find usb c pd almost everywhere) It’s now living in my daily carry bag as I need to repair electronics on a daily basis ! I have much larger soldering station but for now enjoy more the flexibility of this one as I put the battery in my front pocket ! I already have a ts8000 but it’s finicky on which power bank it can handle and when finished you can’t put it anywhere as the tip stay warm long enough to burn stuff around as this one have a cap and I could immediately put it back in my bag !!! Love it and you will too !!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Device with Plenty of Power.

This device is my little partner for my first foray into soldering. I wanted something that is easy to understand and operate, while being safe and minimalistic. It heats up almost instantly, and the interface is legible and easy to understand. The ergonomics feel pretty close to perfect for me with the weight being distributed pretty evenly from end to end. Overall, the construction is lightweight while maintaining a premium feel. So far I've used it to find my technique and could see myself buying a second device from FNIRSI if they decide to make another iteration in the future. I highly recommend this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars High quality, high grade, powerful portable soldering set.

If you're in the market for a small soldering iron, Look no further. Get this. having owned multiple soldering irons, both electric and butane powered, from established home improvement brands and hobbyist stores, I was extremely surprised that this small soldering pen easily best them all In every way. Size and form factor, rate of heat Maximum temperature, precision, ease of use and presets, and included accessories. The device looks and feels well made and solid, powered by a 100W USB-C power supply that also fast charges my phone and can do so while powering the iron thanks to the (2) USB-C and (1) USB-A 3.1 power output ports. The carrying case is small yet holds the soldering iron, with room for all three included iron tips, straight point, angled and flat blade, one in the iron and the other two in their protective hard sleeves, the iron tip itself is protected with a cap that twists on, nearly eliminating the possibility of the cap falling off on its own with a hot tip exposed to damage or potential burns. The USB-C cable included is solidly made with a silicone jacket and is extremely flexible with quality feeling metal connectors. A small iron stand and thin piece of sponge are also included in the case. The tips push straight into the unit and are securely held in place no need to twist or tighten anything. Upon sensing the presence of a tip the iron temp can be set manually, or to any one of three preset temperatures, which you can select in the settings, to have easy access to your most frequently used temperatures for the type of work you do. The screen is bright and easy to read, and silicone grip near the tip of the iron makes it comfortable to hold to solder precise joints. With other soldering irons I sometimes ran into issues of the tip not heating up enough but that has never been the case here. I always have enough heat to melt any gauge solder exactly where I want it for perfect connections in my electronics and metal connections. For everything except the largest of soldering jobs, this is the only one you'll need. Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cables are not good

I need to share my experience with the FNIRSI equipment. On the first day, everything worked fine. The second time I connected it, everything went smoothly as well. However, when I used the soldering iron and pressed the OK button, it displayed a red low voltage message. After some troubleshooting, I connected the cable to a vehicle charger rated at 100 watts, and everything worked perfectly after that.

Additionally, I recently purchased a FNIRSI 30-watt power supply, but it stopped working. As a result, I had to buy another power supply rated at 500 watts along with a 240-watt cable. I hope nothing breaks again with this setup.

I can use this in the wind! The butane ones take longer to heat up and if it's windy they go out. I originally was adusting the power to work with a power bank that only pushed 30 watts. But I ended up getting a DC to USBC cable and now I use a 12 volt Milwaukee 2 amp hour battery. Lasts a long time on that battery. Heats up very quickly, cools down nicely. I keep everything in the case including solderwick, solder and the cable. Which keeps it protected and easily portable. The battery itself I just throw in my pocket or a tool pouch and have the cable sticking out as I'm using it which I do not mind. Overall fantastic tool that I absolutely love and will be buying another one directly from them because they do not have the hard case on 鶹 sadly.

Unit is very nicely made for sure, but despite the "quality control" badge in the box, the one I received did not work (it wouldn't heat up correctly). Seems like if anyone was actually testing these soldering irons, it would have been easy to catch this in a few seconds.

Okay first off: make sure you understand this iron is *corded*, not cordless. That means you must always have a USB cable plugged into it for power. There is no internal battery to charge up. You wanna use it, you plug it into the USB cable and power brick and keep it plugged in while in use. Having the big USB cable plugged in the back is kinda of annoying frankly.

My soldering iron showed up and everything seemed to be working okay when I plugged it in initially - but I quickly realized something was not right. The iron should heat up in 2 seconds, but that clearly was not happening. Also, I noticed the little "heating up progress bar" across the bottom of the screen just keep jumping back and forth clear to the left (it never moved up to indicate the iron was getting hot and reaching its set temp).

I went into all the menus and even reset the device, but nothing would make it heat up correctly. The tip did get a tiny bit warm but not nearly up to the temps on the screen. The little progress bar never really got rolling. During temp changing, it popped up, but as soon as the device picked its temp, the temp progress bar showed the device was not heating up. I tried the included 100W power supply as well as other USB-C power supplies I had here but nothing made any difference.

The unit arrived with firmware version 1.4 on it, so I thought maybe it needed an update. At the company website it showed there was a version 1.6 so I decided to try installing that. I downloaded the firmware and mounted the iron on my iMac... so far so good.. dragged the .bin file to the device and the tiny screen said "Updating Firmware!" - but sadly it never finished or rebooted. I made a few attempts and each time the unit recognized I had asked it to update the firmware, but never any completion to the update.

Unfortunately, the company's website does not give you any means to download previous versions of the firmware (thanks a lot) - so no way to roll things back to version 1.4. I attempted to install the firmware for the HS-02A pen on this one (mine is the HS-02B pen), but that just served to brick the device once and for all. Awesome. This time the iron just rebooted with a bunch of Chinese writing on the screen.. and that's was that. No more mounting the device, no more nothing.

So yeah, not real impressed. As mentioned in my video, the little quality control card included with the device was not signed by anyone (despite showing a "passed" emblem which appeared to be printed on the card itself - not added later). I think it's pretty bogus to just toss in a quality control indicator not signed by a human. I sincerely doubt anyone tested this soldering iron before tossing it in a box.

Not sure if I'll give this soldering iron another try, but just for wasting my evening I will give it a 1-star review.
