This is a nice little attachment for my phone. It allows me to hold the phone like a camera, so super helpful when taking pictures. I can easily switch the rotation from portrait to landscape. The clasp is very strong with the brackets. The magnet is also strong if you are not using a phone case. I have to use a case. I bought a hard case with its own magnet, it does hold the phone well enough with that. But not strong enough if you’ll have any sudden jerks or anything. My phone actually dropped from the magnet hold when it was on a tripod and I made a sudden jerky move with the tripod ( it’s a bad tripod ) there is a magnetic ring that you can paste onto your phone that comes with this grip handle, I haven’t tried it yet, not sure if it will stick to a plastic phone case… The detachable shutter is very practical for taking pics with a tripod when you don’t want to touch the phone, or to take selfies etc. The shutter holds in place magnetically and with 2 pins. I wish there was a more secure way it was fixed onto the handle though. I fear it might get detached accidentally and easily could fall off, get lost.

I would say overall this is great for point and shoot work, and can be easily mounted to a Monopod or Tripod. The magnet is quite strong and there is a built-in clamp for more security, I also recommend a magnetic case over adding the metal ring to a blank case as the metal ring gets really really hot when charging on a dock but cable charging is fine.

The other issue I have run into is that the photo button increases the volume on my phone when out side the base photo app and cannot be used in other apps as it only increases the volume, this is disappointing as that was what I would use it for most often.

I needed something I could attach my iPhone 15 to a tripod without removing the case (and potentially weakening the case's materials), and so I began looking for MagSafe compatible tripod mounts. When I found that this had the most positive ratings, I decided to pull the trigger, and I'm glad I did; this grip by Ulanzi is quite a pleasure to use.

The magnet is more than strong enough for my iPhone to attach itself to the grip, and it won't let go unless I detach it myself. Connecting the Bluetooth remote button took less than 15 seconds to pair with my phone, and once paired, it takes less than 3 seconds to connect. I do love that the remote button is detachable.

Also, if you hold the button in, it does produce burst shots on the iPhone 15, 15 Plus, or 15 Pro. I haven't used the cold-shoe mount yet, though I do have some accessories in mind that I'd like to try with it.

The picture quality is what you would expect from the phone itself, so the grip doesn't enhance or worsen what the phone is capable of producing, although the front mirror of the grip does make it easier to frame a selfie shot.

The only downside: I've found that the grip and the stuff attached to it will fall over when a tabletop tripod is used, so to counter that, I recommend using a slide mount to readjust the center of gravity.

Other than that, it's a great MagSafe compatible grip. I highly recommend it.
