- Reviewed in Canada on October 8, 2024Verified PurchaseI've taken 1000mg doses from other brands, and this is definitely more potent. I felt the difference in less than two weeks, increased mental clarity, focus, etc. Well worth the money!

- Reviewed in Canada on March 27, 2024I've been using Lion's Mane for a few years and have noticed improvements in overall cognition and speech (finding the right words). It's like a switch is turned on in your brain. Not quite like the magic pill in the movie Limitless, but still quite noticeable. Historically, Lion's Mane has been notoriously expensive, so it is good to see more companies competing in this market to make the product available at a lower price point. However, I'm always a little apprehensive of supplement potency claims because sometimes it seems like a marketing exercise in creative math.
These capsules claim to have 2000mg of potency with only 250mg of actual product per capsule with an extract potency ratio of 8:1. Most of the other brands that I've tried have more than double the amount of actual product, at the same price point, listing 500mg or 600mg of product per capsule with varying extract ratios of 2:1 to 10:1. Another brand claims to skip the mycelium part of the mushroom because it contains more starch and can "artificially inflate the polysaccharide content". I'm therefore inclined to favour brands with greater quantity of actual product per capsule, rather than those attempting to hide behind an inflated potency ratio. Therefore, if I put aside the potency claim of 8:1, and look at the actual amount of Lion's Mane per capsule, this one only has 250mg. This is at least half of what other brands are offering for a similar price, so I conclude that this product is actually half the value, or double the price, of other equivalent Organic Canadian made Lion's Mane.
- Reviewed in Canada on April 22, 2024We have taken a lot of different supplements over the years, and have recently been interested in the potential health benefits of certain mushrooms. I have looked into mushroom supplements before and read that the ones made from the fruiting body are likely superior to the ones made from the mycelium. Some research suggests that the fruiting body contains higher levels of certain beneficial compounds compared to the mycelium-based supplements. This supplement is made from the fruiting body, so I felt it was a better choice.
The capsules aren’t too large and we have no difficulty swallowing them. My husband has been taking these for nearly a month now and I began taking them a little over a week ago. We haven’t experienced any negative side effects. My husband says he’s been feeling less fatigued and calmer since taking them, which suggests it may be helping with stress, However, he can’t say it’s solely due to the supplement as he’s only been taking it for a relatively short period of time. I am more interested in the cognitive and immune benefits, but it’s too soon for me to notice any effects. In any case, this is the type of supplement that may not necessarily produce noticeable effects; e.g., immune boosting.
👉 As for the ingredients, I am very pleased with the fact that it contains the fruiting body as opposed to the mycelium. 🔎 These capsules are labelled as 2500mg with an 8:1 concentration ratio. So, basically 8 parts are concentrated down to 1 part. (8 parts of raw material= 1 part of concentrated extract) If it weren’t concentrated, you’d have to take 8 capsules to obtain the same amount as the concentrated version in 1 capsule.
The QCE (quantified crude equivalent) means that when it is reconstituted to its original form, it’s actually equivalent to a *minimum* of 2000 mg of lion’s mane. The “250 mg” listed on the back of the product may be confusing to some, but it refers to the concentrated form (8:1), which again, is equivalent to 2000 mg (minimum). It’s a bit like herbal tea extracts where a few drops provide the same benefits as drinking a whole cup of tea. Moreover, the 2000mg is from the fruiting body and isn’t filled with the mycelium.
The 25% beta-glucans refers to the concentration of that polysaccharide which is believed to contain some of the health benefits.
Overall, I think this is a high-quality supplement and a good value considering the type and potency of the ingredients. As an added bonus, it’s made by a Canadian company, and I like supporting Canadian businesses. I would recommend this particular Lion’s mane supplement to others.
Thanks for reading. I hope this was helpful to you!
- Reviewed in Canada on June 19, 2024- It says "minimum 25% beta-glucans" on the bottle. I appreciate that information about the strength of the active chemicals is provided, because otherwise it's hard to tell how much you are getting. It also say's it's equivalent to 2,000 mg of dry lion's mane, although that's less of a good measurement since it's dependent on what part of the mushroom is used.
- The capsules are medium sized, and I didn't have any trouble swallowing them. I didn't notice any taste or aftertaste, and I didn't experience any negative side effects.
- The bottle has an NPN licsense number printed on it (80125814) which shows that it's licensed for distribution in Canada. It's also certified organic, vegan, and made in Canada.
- My bottle expires in Feb. 2029, which is almost 5 years from now. So, definitely no worrying not letting it expire.
Current title: Certified Organic Lion's Mane - Cognition & Memory - 120 capsules - 2000mg- Fruiting Body - Multiple Extraction - Over 25% Beta-glucans - Made in Canada
My rating system: 5 stars = performs as expected, 4 stars = small flaws, 3 stars = major flaws, 2 stars = barely usable, 1 star = trash
- Reviewed in Canada on April 3, 2024Lion's Mane is a good supplement touted by many health experts for a wide array of health benefits. I myself am not a health care professional but I have been using Lion's Mane supplements for quite some time and I have had good results. Your mileage may vary. This product seems to work as well as the other brands I've tried. The capsules themselves are good quality and they don't dissolve and release product in your mouth or throat which I'm assuming means the good stuff is going wherever the good stuff needs to go.
