Refreshingly good design. Honest advertising

Refreshingly good design. Honest advertising
Unlike so many lights you see on amazon, Ravemen seems to be advertising exactly what you get. The lumen rating seems spot on. In 1000 lumen mode it's definitely brighter than my name-brand 850 lumen light. It's way brighter than my friends "9000 lumen" light which is a popular option on the site. The design is excellent. A 1000 lumen "low beam", with an extremely bright high beam you can toggle in addition. The high beam will absolutely blind people coming the other way, so it's definitely only for use on the trails. It's essentially just a flood light and does an excellent job lighting up the trail in a nice wide beam. It's wide enough to see around bends as well as to see any low branches or anything you could run into. It's as bright as anything you could ever want and I can't see any serious person having any complaints in this department. The low beam is very bright, and crucially for me, it's very usable in the city. It isn't even close to a true cutoff but the lens does a great job of diffusing the top half of the beam. So you still get a decent amount of light spilling upwards, but that's fine by me as it catches reflectors, street signs and the like. It's not at all too bright for people coming the other way and you can look directly at it as long as you're above the diffuse cutoff line of the beam. Just make sure you set it up properly with it angled very slightly down as the instructions in the box show. I actually use it on my fast e-scooter and it's plenty of light for the speeds. If you're on an acoustic bike, you'll have no chance of outrunning the beam. The remote works exactly the same as the 2 buttons on the light. Bottom button cycles brightness levels and top toggles the high beam (and max brightness) on and off. I wasn't sure about needing a remote, but now that I have it, I don't know if I could live without it. The battery indicator is a nice feature and seems totally accurate, though I haven't timed it exactly or anything. It's only just bright enough to read, which is perfect as I wouldn't want glare. My only gripe is that it comes with a mount only for the largest handlebar diameters. I did need to order a mount for standard handlebars from Ravemen. Seems totally silly to me that they wouldn't include a mount for standard handlebars with the light. I own a lot of bikes (and the scooter) and none have bars that will fit this. I use it on an accessory bar and those also use the standard, small handlebar, diameter. Overall, this seems to me like a best case scenario. You're getting performance on par with any high-end European name brand, without paying for the name. It's more expensive than lots of the other lights you'll see on the site but you'll immediately be able to tell that the money has gone straight into the product.

It's a great light but it's annoying that after spending 170 dollars on the light, I have to buy a seperate 20 dollar mount to make it work with standard handlebars. Both my road bike, and my scooter (which uses an accessory bar) need a 22.2mm mount. Otherwise the light is truly well designed with true dipped beam and high beam modes. The low beam is very wide and bright. Though it's not a true cutoff pattern, it does a great job of keeping the light low and out of eyes. Very nice consistent beam pattern. The high setting uses the wide beam and adds a very bright centre beam which is only slightly less wide and focussed higher up. The light always goes into it's brightest setting first when activating the high beam, but it remembers the last low beam setting you used and will return you to that when you switch back. Fairly heavy, but built like a rock. Remote works well and functions exactly like the buttons on the light itself. Love the countdown timer, it's dim enough you won't be seeing it glaring up at you from your handlebars in the dark, but very easy to read. Overall it's one of those pieces of equipment that just works like it should

Had to replace my dual cross cygo lite of 13 years, Was reviewing lights on line and the raven popped up. Liked the reviews, so I decided to give it a shot.
So far the light works great, very bright on highest setting, I use medium setting which does well. Also caught it on sale half off on 鶹.
