I have used the remote at 6 basketball games now and the button seems to have loosened up and works fine now. I will not be sending it back.

The Good - comes with 2 panasonic batteries, a handy clip that is removeable and that also works in a cold shoe + comes with a perfect screw for attachment to Smallrig cage etc.

The Bad = trigger button sticks down after depressed. In Movie mode this forces you to press a couple of times to stop recording. In Stills mode it is in a semi depressed mode all the time and sticks down in shutter release, a big problem in continuous hi speed shooting and forces you to shut camera off to switch between modes.

I just got it a couple of hours ago and have not checked the range...not a big one for me as I really only want to mount it to my camera cage top handle. it seems well designed and would be the perfect solution if only the button was better quality.

Just deciding if sending it back is worth the hassle.

I had high hopes for the SmallRig Wireless Remote Control. But thus far I'm unimpressed.

Right out of the box, it was the right size, controls appeared easy to use, battery included, little did I know the frustrations to come.

The battery compartment was nearly impossible to open by hand. I had dismissed those needing tools as hypberbol, but 5 minutes later I was seriously giving getting a pair of plyers as an option when it finally (somehow) slipped open. Now that I could see it battery compartment was well marked, apparently would need only one of the two coin batteries. Always nice to have a spare.

And activated, blue led for when shutter depressed. Flashing for pairing... so why won't it pair? My Sony A7Cii acts like it never even noticed. Another 15 minutes laters and I've had it.

Pity as I had high hopes for it being easier and more convenient that the "smart phone" app the manufacturer recommended.

Strike one - NO instructions
Strike two - hard to access battery compartment
Strike three - not able to pair to camera inspire of claim (Alpha 7C II )
