The little cup that goes over the bleeding valve slipped off a couple times, so I had be careful of that, and as others have mentioned the suction effect will suck air from around the bleeder valve threads if loosened too much. I sealed the threads a bit and that helped.

Bleeding brakes alone as a DIYer is always a pain. I've had two of the hand-pump style vacuum bleeders, and have been disappoints. Decided to give this one a shot due to being barely more expensive, since I have a better compressor these days.

The unit is well made, and feels robust, with a good-sized reservoir and a long hose. In use, it drained my master cylinder in seconds. It should be noted, though, that when vacuum bleeding brakes, it's important to put gum or putty around the base of the bleeder valve when cracked to prevent air from seeping in. As far as cons go, the only real complaint I have is that it goes through air from my compressor like a drowning man.

Highly recommended if you have a compressor.
