About this item
- Quad M.2 NVMe to PCIe 3.0 X8 Adapter: By installing 4 M.2 NVMe SSDs (Support 22110/2280/2260/2242/2230 M.2 NVMe SSD) on this PCIe 3.0 X8 adapter, your computer will be able to access 4 x M.2 NVMe SSDs at the same time (Note: Not support M.2 SATA SSD)
- ASM2824 Chip Built-in PCIe Bifurcation: It can work with all kinds of motherboards (Note: The PCIe slot must be allocated with PCIe X8 lane bandwidth)
- Upstream Bandwidth: 4 x M.2 NVMe SSDs sharing PCIE 3.0 X8 bandwidth (64Gbits/s = 8GB/s max), which means 4 x M.2 NVMe SSDs cannot operate at full speed at the same time.
- Hardware Platform: Support Soft RAID in Intel/AMD platform, not support Mac Pro 5.1 (Note: To set up Intel's RAID-on-CPU (VROC), you need to purchase your license)
- Support OS Booting: Reinstall the OS, and set up BIOS/UEFI boot from this M.2 NVMe SSD (Note: Some motherboards are too old to support OS booting. In this case, M.2 NVMe SSDs can be used as storage disks)
- OS compatibility: Plug-and-play in Windows 11/10/8/Linux/Mac OS (Note: Not support Windows 7). The new M.2 NVMe SSD needs to be initialized and formatted before it can be recognized by the computer host.
- Silent Heatsink Fan ensures this adapter runs for a long time without losing performance.

Quad M.2 NVMe SSD Host Adapter with PCIe Bifurcation Function
- Add 4 x M.2 NVMe SSD (M-Key) onto a single PCIe X8 host adapter, so you can access 4 x M.2 NVMe SSD at the same time
- Support soft RAID in Windows/Linux/3rd party software
- Support M.2 NVMe SSD RAID-on-CPU (VROC) in the Intel Platform, but you need to purchase an Intel VROC license by yourself
- Support M.2 NVMe RAID in AMD Platform
- Support Mac Pro 5.1
- PCIe 3.0 X8 bandwidth
- For PCIe 4.0 SSD, it will downgrade to PCIe 3.0 mode
- Support PCIe bifurcation function
- Support 2230/2242/2260/2280/22110 form factor
- The gap between the two NVMe slots is 3mm
- Regular profile bracket and low profile bracket

PCIe Bifurcation (PCIe Splitter)
- With ASM2824 PCIe Bifurcation function, PA40 can work with none PCIe Bifurcation motherboard;
- The disadvantage is that PA40 cannot support PCIe 4.0 and only support PCIe 3.0/2.0 features;
- The max bandwidth is PCIe 3.0 X8, which means 4 x M.2 NVMe SSD shares PCIe 3.0 X8 bandwidth.

Soft RAID in Window 10
- When you find 2 or more separate M.2 NVMe SSD in Disk Management of Windows 10
- Right-click the disk volume, which you want to set up soft RAID
- A pop-up window appears, click the option (Spanned/Striped/Mirrored)
- Noted: You can set up soft RAID in Linux/Mac/3rd party software also.

PCIE 3.0 X8 Full Speed
- Compatible with PCIe 3.0/2.0 motherboards, and install into PCI-Express X8 lane.
- To reach PCIe 3.0 speed, make sure your CPU and motherboard, and PCIe SSDs are all PCIe 3.0 enabled.

M.2 SSDs Installation
- M.2 SSD head tilted at 30 degree angle, inserted into Key M interface
- The brass standoff snaps into the semi-circular position at the end of the M.2 SSD
- Secure the brass standoff from the back with screw

Packaging includes
- PA40
- 2 x M.2 Screw and Copper Stand
- 8cm Low-profile bracket
- Screws for bracket mounting to PC
- Screwdriver
