The cabinet is not made of solid wood - it's all particle board. But it's well built and the finish is good. The particle board, however, makes it easy to strip screws if you're not careful. I knew that going in and was super careful but managed to strip one anyways. The doors are hung on simple hinges fastened by two very narrow and short screws. I'm betting that in time the movement of the doors will work the hinges loose but that's just me guessing. I found the magnet that holds the doors shut to be very weak. It doesn't take much pressure from inside to nudge the doors open. I keep paper towel rolls inside the cabinet and the rolls when side by side are just a smidge bigger than the available space inside. You'd think the magnet would hold things shut since they're easily compressible rolls of paper but with only that tiny force of the oversized rolls it has pushed a door open over night. So I'm planning on upgrading the magnet or maybe I'll install one of those snap latches. The whole things is very easy to assemble. There are one or two parts of the instructions that I'd personally modify but all-in-all the instructions were very good. Everything essentially snaps together with fancy twist lock fasteners. If you've ever assembled something from IKEA you'll know what I mean. There were some parts I didn't use - they weren't necessary but even if they had been, I'm not exactly sure what purpose they served. They seemed to have something to do with fastening the cabinet to the wall to keep it in place but that wasn't something I needed so there were indeed parts left over (like any good DIY job LOL). The cabinet doesn't go snugly against the wall if you have base boards. In my case the depth of the cabinet (front to back) fit nearly perfectly where it belonged. If it had been a half in deeper, I would have jigsawed out the contour of the base boards and pushed it farther back. I just measured and it might be helpful to know that if you're planning to carve out a base board contour, the baseboards need to be shorter than 3- 3/8" but can protrude from the wall any amount. There's only one upright on each end that would need contoured cutting.

Overall the cabinet is great. The drawer works great too - very smooth. If I had one wish (other than the door magnet being stronger), I would have preferred some sort of water resistant surface on top. The cabinet is for a bathroom and will likely end up next to a vanity like mine did. As such it'll probably get wet some day. Maybe someone will rinse after brushing and put the wet glass on top or maybe someone will store their WaterPik tootbrush on there. To me it looks like the painted surface wouldn't hold up. I'll personally be buying a piece of glass to top it off... but that's just me.

It's a good quality, easily assembled cabinet with some minor wish list items. I'd recommend it to anyone who needs something that size.
