This is a more budget friendly device. They were on sale, and I bought 2 of them. I’ve only been using for 2 days now, but I’m impressed. It’s not overly rugged materials, but it certainly does the job. I like the mechanism for clamping. Works well on mi iPad and my iPhone which is in an extreme case.

What I’m most impressed with is the mounting system. It uses a compression fitting to hold the base into the mount. You can set enough friction to hold everything in place, yet still move it without re-adjusting. A sweet little design. Dirt I’ve seen like this, and it’s a brilliant idea.

I’m disabled, and consequently spend a lot of time on screen. I won’t know what the long term quality is like, but having gone through at least 10 or more units in the last several years, I’m thoroughly impressed.

I would definitely buy this item again.

Te C clamp is junk!

The C clamp is made of plastic and I overtightened the screw that holds the rod, now that screw won't come out! The design of the screw is weird, the rotating part is plastic. Because I overtightened it, the plastic part became still and if I turn it it makes no difference anymore.

I was using the C clamp in the horizontal position, as shown in one of the pictures (thus, the clamp itself is on a horizontal plane, like this: -----> ). There's little stability like this, the rod wasn't really designed for this scenario, I think it'd be more stable if the clamp was used in a vertical position (with the rod on the horizontal or vertical plane; probably vertical would work best).

I was trying to hold a bluetooth keyboard a little under 2kg in weight. I don't think this would be able to hold well a 2kg tablet, at least not with this cheap clamp. The rubber also fell apart since the clamp was on the horizontal and gravity kept pulling it down.

Overall, I think it's a good rod, a little short, but the clamp is very bad for anything above 1kg
