Recoil L-2 speakers SPM65 combine crystal clear tweeter performance, smooth mid-range and powerful mid-bass capabilities. The mid/bass driver that is built on a rigid, die-cast solid aluminum frame and features Recoil thermal-formed Polypropylene & Mica composite cones. The mid-woofer is designed to overcome the inherent problems of every loudspeaker design: distortion, power handling, dynamic response and efficiency.

This is very loud, crisp and punchy. I tested it free-air as I'm not ready to do the install in my car yet. Everything was easy to install (Mock) and worked as expected. Direct from PC to AMP, the components did their job and separated the frequencies perfectly. I couldn't get any distortion playing Rock or Pendulum fairly loudly. I already have the Alpine Type X with a 1200.1 D Skar amp installed.. these are going to be a great addition. 5 stars!

    Awesome loud.Running the pair on a 4channel taramps 400watt bridged.Amp needed ground loop filter but these speakers pound.I hope they don't blow but so far so good.They say 125rms there getting 200Rms and they take it no problems.I have the 6.5" in boxs as corner kickers in my truck.There loud enough to keep up with 2 Alpine 12" at 1000watt rms.Gotta do the big three upgrade now afraid I'm in need of more power...

    I got these for my 06 civic and had a buddy install them with a fresh sub and amp, and I must say they are decent for the money, but not as much punch and rich volume as I was expecting. It drones out pretty bad above 80% volume so its hard to jam out with these and enjoy the music, but just for everyday listening on 75% or less volume and they are fine for the price. Tweeters are good, the speakers themselves put out 130w each, so not crazy but again, pretty good.
    Tweeters make a big difference as i never had any more and its definitely noticeable, they sound good and ive been able to adjust the EQ to make it sound even better.
    Had these been good up to 95-100% volume, they'd be better rated.

    These speakers are well made and solid. The frame of the woofers are machined cast aluminum with a large heavy magnet. If you are mounting them in your doors make sure you measure for clearance, they are 2.64" deep from the back on the mounting flange. Be aware these do not come with speaker grills but most will install them behind door panels or under a rear deck. Having separate tweeters is usually a pain since you have to find someplace to mount them, sometimes having to cut a hole. You can do that with these too but you have the option of surface mounting them. Each tweeter has a nice cone shaped back enclosure that has a flat spot on the bottom and has included double sided tape to stick them to any flat surface. The crossovers have a tweeter attenuation switch that you can set to 0, -3 or +3db. You'll also have to find someplace to hide the crossovers, either in the door or behind the dash.
    These sound really nice, full and clear. Definitely a nice upgrade from stock.

    Easy to install outside ring is smaller than other 6x5s so might take some slight engineering but once installed sound great. Very nice packaging and well made definitely a quality speaker would recommend!! Some tools and materials you might need are wire strippers, soldering iron, heat shrink for the wires, a drill or Phillips screwdriver, self taping screws. You can easily find everything else for the speakers nicely packed in box! You can also find on Google or YouTube ways to install on your specific vehicle!

    I'm used to having premium sound as I got my vehicle fully loaded with the popular four letter system that screams quality. I also have a hard time watching TV using TV speakers while some companies have gotten better they just sound horrible to me. However my wife's car is as standard as It comes. To be honest I've never heard of Recoil. So, I went ahead and upgraded the wifes' car to these exceptional sounding speakers. I was surprised at how well the highs and lows were separated and how clean and crisp the audio came out. If I had known better I would have upgraded the rear speakers as well but for now the sound quality in her car is now up to standard to me. While, my wife said she didn't notice the difference between hers and my car. Now that her car has a noticable upgrade in these Recoil speakers/woofers and tweeders, she's glad we gave them a shot. The new sound system definitely added value for money in resale price of the car and the quality of material lets us know it's going to last. If you're looking for an upgrade and don't trust the bigger name brands or don't care to spend too much, these are definitely a treat for any one willing to give them a try. I'll be looking for the rear speakers for her car by recoil to match.
