- Reviewed in Canada on January 23, 2025Verified PurchaseDecent set up. Looks great and feels like it’s well made. We’ll see how the instruments hold up in the north. The tablet set up isn’t very fluid and could be better. One app to set it up would be better than multiple websites and codes to get the weather updates.
- Reviewed in Canada on May 26, 2023Verified PurchaseI received the weather station a week ago. Installation was easy and intuitive. All parts were there and did fit. I expected difficulties with setting up the communication protocol, but everything seemed to be properly pre-programmed. The entire set up process took about an hour, start to finish. It was fun to receive the first data.
The communication with the cloud based software was a bit more challenging. I used Weathercloud, not Weather Underground. The manual appears to be translated from Chinese and was difficult or impossible to follow. Then I remembered the one page "Simple Setup Guide" that was included with the package. With that, I was able to connect the weather station to the internet. The Ruddy station does not appear on the software list of approved manufacturers, however that did not matter in the end. I am now posting our data every 10 minutes on the cloud, and I can look up data from other, nearby stations.
I don't know how to test or calibrate our weather station, but by comparing our results with those from other, nearby stations, I get the impression that our readings are in line with those of the other stations, even of the professional grade stations.
I enjoy reading the weather trends during the night using the software.. There have been no issues to far - thumbs up, this appears to be a good product.

- Reviewed in Canada on June 25, 2023Verified PurchaseI ordered this unit twice, the first time the power plug for the console was defective so it wouldn't let me connect the unit to the internet. I returned it and purchased another one and it's been pretty good so far.
Setup takes about an hour and is pretty straightforward, the trickiest part is connecting the console to the internet - if it doesn't initially want to connect, unplug the console and take out the batteries, then hold the centre "min/max" button as you plug it in again, then put the batteries in (resets the unit, as per the instructions).
I've only had the station for a few days but it's been through a lot of rain, and seems to agree quite closely with other weather stations in the area on weatherunderground.com. I really like how the console can display the wind in knots and pressure in inches of mercury, which is useful as a pilot.
Overall, besides the initial unit being defective it's been working well so far. I'll post any updates, especially as the winter starts.
UPDATE - 1 YEAR
So almost exactly one year after installation, the unit disconnected but it was just the batteries running out, after changing them and 30 mins of setup it's back again. Very minimal maintenance or problems encountered over the last year and it survived a winter full of snow, ice, and heavy winds. Hoping for another year of easy ownership!

5.0 out of 5 stars Two years in and it works great!
Verified PurchasePurchased two years ago and it is still going strong. It has never stopped working, survived wind storms in the PNW. It appears accurate and the interior screen display is easy to read. It has been great having the information daily.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy setup. Up and running in short order. Accurate readings.
Verified PurchaseThe Raddy replaced a Taycom Systems weather station. The data collected was comparable to the old unit. Network and publishing setup was easier. Readings are accurate. Overall, I'm happy with this weather station.
My one dislike concerns the included mounting pole. I'm not a big fan of the mounting clamp. It looks too bulky and sticks out like a sore thumb on the mast. I prefer the u-bolt style of mount that allows the station to be mounted directly to the metal mast. I just have to learn to live with the big plastic block on the rooftop mast.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good purchase for the price
Verified PurchaseAfter receiving the weather station I let it run for about 6 days. Setting up the sensor is an easy chore. It updates about every 16 seconds which is a little too long for me. The wind speeds are all an average of that time so you don't really see real time speeds , just the average. That to me is the only real draw back to this system. Everything else is pretty self explanatory and factory defaults are spot on. The display is really nice and has everything you need. I wish it ran off batteries and when plugged into the wall the batteries would charge. So if you want to move the display to another room for a time, you have to plug it into the wall for constant viewing. The display goes blank when disconnected from the wall and you have to press a button to see a full display which only lasts a few seconds. It's a minor thing but kind of annoying. Nothing you can't live with. I had to have my son help with connecting it to Weather underground but once done, it's a nice feature. I have had Davis and other makes of weather systems and trustfully this is the best yet for price and features. I would recommend this for purchase. I do wish they sold a separate display for this model so it could be installed in another room full time. I have not verified the claimed distance of 1.9 miles but I will later as the weather warms up. I have only looked at their website and could not find a display dedicated to this model. Overall, it is a very nice piece of equipment and I am happy with it so far. I definitely give it a thumbs up.

1.0 out of 5 stars I intensely dislike this product.
Verified PurchaseFirst, let me say that in general it is not a bad product. If a person into weather and a hobby and a high interest it the weather all over the world, then this is a great product. Now for the reasons I don't like it. I read and reread the instructions and still haven't figured out how to set the time and current date. I follow the instruction the best I can figure them out, to no avail. Another thing I don't like that it requires being mounted in a certain way, oriented just right. What I have had in the past could tell which way the wind was blowing without regard to the way it was mounted. We just had a little short shower and it was over before it gave the rainfall. I would be delight to trade this for one half the price just to have something to read the conditions. I plan to take this down when the weather clears up and even though I don't still have the original packaging, I would gladly package it up and mail to anyone wanting for half the original price plus postage.

3.0 out of 5 stars It was a bit challenging to set up
Verified PurchaseFirst off let me say, I am am not a technical person. The struggle came with getting the screen to read the info from the assembly. I almost boxed it up and sent it back. It took several tries of removing the batteries and unplugging the screen to get the info from the outside assembly. Another 鶹 review is what helped me. I unplugged the screen & took out the batteries. Then I pressed the silver Max/Min button on the bottom of the screen as I plugged it in to the outlet. When I released the button, it finally picked up the outside information. The manual also says that the blue WIFI light should be a constant, but it isn't, and it blinks off and on all of the time. However, the readings appear to be accurate. I spoke with another Raddy 7 owner who has stated that his WIFI light has also flashed on and off for the year that he's had his and the readings are accurate. I am going to love this weatherstation.
