Worked well for my application, with having said that I'm not a daily mechanic either !

Quality kit, seems up to the task for any home mechanic
I am a pretty basic home tinkerer mechanic so the testing procedures and equipment are all new to me. The test kit seems well made, the gauges and regulator block maybe not the best quality i have seen, but for the limited service i would see they seem to perform the function. Given the test is not with absolute values as long as its consistent during each cylinder test its okay. Hoses all are nice and flexible, fittings are brass, quick connectors on the airlines all seem okay, they've added o-rings on all the adaptors and they seem to fit up nice and snug. I am not quite sure about the compression tester statement in the title unless you just infer that no leaks will result in good compression? apologies if i got this wrong. In bench testing it does perform well and seems reasonably accurate in detecting flow coming out of the block. Setting the hold point is easy, simulating a leak condition off the connector end works well and there is a lot of play between a full leak to tiny one that inspires confidence in the range it can detect. I didn't get a chance to play with the spark tester but it looks okay seems well made. From my perspective as a casual home mechanic/ tinkerer, this seems like a great kit and well beyond my needs. I like the testing procedure it really does seem to pull out a number of faults to try chase down

Quick Connector doesn't fit with the hose, making this toolset completely useless unless you're ready to heavily cut and modify it.
Save your cash for a proper tool.

- Reviewed in Canada on February 18, 2025Verified PurchaseNeed to shave off the 12mm hexagon fitting in order to fit into spark plug bores ( that have smaller bore )
For the price of it , it is still worth of doing it
- Reviewed in Canada on February 11, 2025Verified PurchaseWorks, kinda. Regulator a little iffy. Was ultimately able to get half decent leakdown percentages, but only at 20 psi, which is fine for your average car or atv. If you're only gonna use it a few times then it's worth it, otherwise you'll want better.
- Reviewed in Canada on November 19, 2024This seems to be a decent tool - and it’s a great tool for the price. The brass quick connect fittings work well and are leak free. The regulator is easy to adjust. The damped gauges have metal bodies and rubber protective covers. The range of adapters covers anything I’m likely to ever work on. The instructions are clearly written and easy to follow. In fact, my only very minor complaint with this tool is the fact that the instruction manual won’t fit in the case without folding it in half first. Be aware that understanding and following the instructions is essential - because, as with any similar tester, if you crank the pressure up too high, you’ll over-pressurize and likely damage the % leakage gauge.
- Reviewed in Canada on July 3, 2025Verified PurchaseThe fittings is leaking and one of the gauges is going beyond zero set mark.

1.0 out of 5 stars Junk
Verified PurchaseEngine skipped time and I replaced the chain, have valve and timing covers off but want to do a test for valve damage before I button her back up. Confirmed I'm at TDC on cylinder 1 with timing marks and boroscope. Pressure gauge works fine but the leakdown % spins all the way around. Already applied for a refund.

2.0 out of 5 stars Works, but is finicky, and may require modification to the tool or your QCs.
Verified PurchaseI ordered this item to check the head & valves on a 97 miata 1.8L. When I received this unit, I noted that the instruction manual text's use of Letters to identify portions of the tool do not actually correspond to the correct parts of the tool. This will confuse someone who is not familiar with the tool.
The female quick connect on my compressor hose was not initially compatible with the 1/4" male quick connect on the tool. I had on hand another QC female that was compatible. After physical hookup, no air would go into the tool. I noted the 1/4" male quick connect on the tool has a schrader valve inside. This valve was not referenced in the instructions in any way. After removal of the schrader valve, air was able to enter the tool.
The Pressure gauge scale on this tool does not seem to be calibrated in any way, and showed wildly different settings than my compressor's regulator. Also, above about 25 PSI input, the tool's built-in regulator blows off air with a loud noise, making detection of any leaking air in the manifold under test difficult, if not impossible.
After changing out my QC female connector, removing the schrader valve, dialing down my compressor's pressure to 25 PSI to eliminate the air coming out of the tool's regulator, I was able to finally make measurements on my manifold. It was helpful in diagnosing problems with two of the exhaust valves.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great for finding bent valves!
Verified PurchaseI bought this to diagnose a Hyundai with a snapped timing belt to see if it had bent valves. Within a few minutes it confirmed my suspicions and sure enough there were 6 bent valves on the intake side.
