UPDATE: I've bought 2 other ice makers in the past 4 years. All of them were much smaller than this one but regardless of branding, all seemed identical in parts and durability. They broke down after 6 months use.

This ice maker has all stainless steel parts inside therefore not prone to rust. Works really well. Produces lots of ice cubes quickly. In a few hours you can have a huge bag of solid square cubes.

Never going to run out of ice again. Love how solid and well built it is. Stores easily on the kitchen counter. Instructions included. Arrived on time, in perfect condition.

Bought this unit in May, 2024 - by May of 2025, it was no longer working properly. For the first 9 months or so, the machine was great - perfect temperature and always had fresh ice. We only used filtered water in the machine to avoid buildup; but at the end, the machine was making a very weird noise and would get very hot. I contacted the company, but ultimately had to throw out the machine as I was worried it would catch fire.

Bought the 1st one 2 years ago and it is still going strong. Easy to clean. Make sure to get some ice maker cleaner and run it through a clean cycle monthly. Ice comes out in a "block" but easily breaks apart into cubes. Can change the thickness of your ice depending on your preference. This machine really does what it is supposed to do. Purchased this machine less than a year ago and worked well for a while until it starts making this horrible noise that has rendered this machine useless. Still makes ice but can’t hear the tv in the other room when it’s running. For the cost you’d hope it lasts longer than a few months. I have contacted the manufacturer in hopes to get a replacement. Will update this review later when/ if they get back to me.

Bought this when our big fridge icemaker broke for the third time. We really have come to appreciate it. Don't have to buy bags of ice from the store. That's $10 a week. The ice comes out with the square cubes in a sheet. We just take them out and drop in the big freezer's ice storage. We use an ice pick to easily break them up a little more. The ice stores well this way. Doesn't stick together in the refrigerator. I suspect the smaller bullet style ice from a cheaper icemaker would stick together. This ice maker really cranks it out and will just keep making it as long as you keep the water filled. The appliance takes up some counter space, and you need to keep a little space (few inches) on the side for air circulation, and above it to pour water in the reservoir on the top. Makes a little noise while it is running, just some humming, but when it makes a batch it makes a noise when it dumps into the bin, like a refrigerator does. sometimes startles me a little. You can just keep it running if you want. It holds ice in the bin pretty well, but the older ice slowly melts and the melt water recirculates back into the ice making process. We keep a dedicated pitcher nearby to refill the water and to put the ice in to transfer to the big fridge. It's kind of a new technology for a kitchen appliance, but once you understand how it works, it's pretty cool.

Looks like this ice maker is made the way a countertop machine should be made: put water in at top, take out ice at front, plenty of capacity for both water and ice, machine stops with clear indication of reason for both water tank empty and basket full of ice, status displays that make sense and are visible with both well lit and dark conditions.

Unlike an ice maker I had before this one where water could only be put in where the ice basket holder, if the ice in the basket touched that water it rapidly melted away. In this ice maker instead the ice in the bottom inch or so of the ice basket is deliberately immersed in ice water and does not melt significantly, it just separates into individual cubes.

People concerned about this machine making "sheets" of unseparated cubes don't understand the machine.
Give it some time for the ice to melt a little and the thinner parts between cubes melt away first, resulting in separated cubes. However sometimes I like to pack the sheets into an ice tea tumbler, put that in the freezer, making a porous "block" of ice that is perfect for Keurig ice tea K-Cups.

Even though there are a few places in the instructions where the syntax isn't quite that of English, the deviations are nearly trivial and the intent easy to determine (unlike many products made in china, where the instructions are frequently un-understandable and only create confusion).

Side comment: watching the waterfall down the ice cube freezing grid is actually fun and quite attractive.
