Works well with 3rd Party App

Works well with 3rd Party App
Set this up for my OTA replacement for my old Channelmaster DVR Plus. Concept is great but execution is not so great. Plug the unit in and worked right out of the box, Added app to my LG TV. No guide view, have to pay for DVR capability. Downloaded JellyFin Free Media Server software, (Same basic interface as Emby but free) It allows you to get guide data from Schedules Direct ($25 a year for membership). Works well, can record and watch live TV. There is a hesitation when bringing up a show but nothing too bad. Only problem for me is JellyFin does not work on my LG TV. So still contemplating purchasing Emby Premier for the guide data, (about $150 canadian for lifetime, or until they go out of business). Will update my review as my testing progresses. Update: Had issues with my media server and playing live tv from the HDHomerun. Thought it might be network related so I put my media server on same hub as HDHomerun. Made a world of difference. No hiccup of signal, works well. If I bring up the HDHomerun app on my computer on a different hub the picture is unwatchable, but if I watch the same using the Emby Media software there are no issues. And yes, I have purchased the Emby Premiere monthly add on to test. Works beautifully, can search for shows in the guide and numerous options to record series. Will be doing a full review of Emby separately. Picture of my media server machine. Nice little package with Celeron CPU, 6 gbyte memory and 128 gbyte HDD, Windows 10.

    It's work so well!
I had hauppauge tuner card in my plex server. I had so many weird problems.
    IT's plug and play solution.
I connected the box. Plex DVR detected the box. Bingo finish!

I had a PCIe Quad tuner inside a loud and power hungry HTPC. I replaced the PC with a NAS and got this to get tuner funcionality in Plex. DVR works great and the HDHomeRun Xbox app is a good replacement for the now defunct OneGuide.
