I love this new system. At first I thought I would be putting a dirty mop into clean water, so what would be the benefit. How it works is slick, pull the red handle to get water into the clean water well. Don’t forget to close the red handle or you will contaminate your clean water tank. Plunge the mop into it as many times as needed, based on how dirty your floors are, then when you lift the mop to place into the wringer all of the water from the clean water well goes with the mop head leaving the clean water well practically empty. As I’m wringing I raise the red handle to release a fresh batch of clean water. I will rinse the mop head more then once if the floors have lots of mud on them that my two beasts dragged in with them.
If you have a lot of floor area or, your floors are really dirty you will need to dump the dirty water and refill the clean water tank more then once. At first I found this a little bit frustrating but now I love because it forces me to change the water more often where in the past I might think oh the water is clean enough for that last area. Where in fact the water was way too dirty! I also purchased extra mop heads, they are super easy to pop on and off to change when I’m dumping the dirty water and refilling the clean. For the average home I’d say most kitchen floor areas could be cleaned without having to dump and refill making this system perfect for them.
I mostly just use plain hot water to clean the floors, I do add a drop of regular Dawn AFTER filling the clean water tank if the floors are really dirty. The jostling of carrying the bucket and wringing the mop head disperses the Dawn through the clean water without creating too much foam.
