Deep Pour Resin

Bubble-Free Epoxy Resin

Our scientists have developed an epoxy resin made especially for deeper pours where you can expect your project to be bubble-free and clearer.

Quick & Easy Instructions

Deep Pour Instruction

Measure

Into a mixing cup, pour twice the amount of resin (A) for each measurement of hardener (B) (2:1 ratio). Ex.: 500ml of resin (A) with 250ml of hardener (B).

If you measure by weight (g), use mixing ratio 100A:45B. Ex.: 300g (A) with 135g (B)

Deep Pour Instruction

Mix

Stir both parts together for 4-5 minutes. Make sure to scrap the sides while stirring. Once done, you have up to 6 hours of working time.

Deep Pour Instruction

Pour

Make sure that your project is leveled and pour the resin on it. DO NOT scrape the resin out of the container, just dump it and leave the remaining material in the container.

Tip: 15 minutes after pouring, you can quickly pass a blow torch a few inches over the resin to pop all the extra air bubbles.

Deep Pour Instruction

Wait

Your project will be tack-free after 2 days and cured in 3 days. This curing time helps to release as many air bubbles as possible, and allows for deeper pours.

If you need to do an additional pour, you can do do so between 18 to 28 hours after the last pour. If you wait longer than that, you will need to sand your project with some 180 or 220 grit sandpaper.

After my first use, I've noticed that the 3-4 day wait period is quite painful but the degassing and clarity is the best I've seen in my first year at this.

Normally, I use a vacuum chamber to remove bubbles from my mix but that's not necessary here. The vacuum chamber doesn't do all that much but the resin still sorts itself out in a way that's pretty mind-blowing.

I've experimented with this for a couple of weeks. It takes alcohol based inks for a tint, and is virtually bubble free IF you monitor the temperature when you mix. Warm it up to over 80F. Makes it flow better, and keeps the bubbles down. Mix it slowly and stir gently to avoid adding bubbles but it will clear up in a couple of minutes stirring. Once you pour it, clear the few bubbles that surface with a butane torch. It stays liquid for at least 24hrs. I gave it a 4/5 only because it take 3 and a half days to cure. Get used to the idea of patience. The result is a crystal clear pour.

Being a regular customer of their 2-inch deep pour and table top epoxy products, I was surprised at how liquid and "thin" the 4-inch is, in comparison. Of course, the result was minimal bubble, next-to-none in fact! My heat gun did the trick, as instructed, after 15 minutes. And regarding instructions: I believe following them is key. I cranked up ambient temperature to 22C and I was pleasantly surprised that it took a little less than 3 days to cure and not be tacky at all! So, to summarize: another great product by magic resin, will definitely buy again!

Product was shipped and received quickly and packaged very well for normal shipping/handling. I used the product for the first time with good results. As this is a deep pour, setting time is longer than I expected but the results excellent for what I used it for, which was semi-industrial project in my home metal shop.

Mixes well, nice and smooth. Minimal bubbles and what comes float nicely to the top. Does shrink up so always have to top off the bottom of the mold once it’s dry enough to add more. Otherwise works great!

I ordered the 4 inch pour magic resin epoxy, but in fact only poured 2 inches deep in a small river table. I am a stickler for following directions, so I did and was very happy with the results. I mixed the epoxy as per instructions, adding some pigment for color, and had only 2 tiny bubbles to remove with heat 15 minutes after the pour. I gently attempted to loosen the table top from the mold after 48 hrs and despite it feeling like it would come out of the mold easily, I opted to lave it in 24 more hours. End result was great, and I've ordered more!

I’ve been using other brands like Jdiction and Epodex and I can only tell you that this stuff is my new go to for deep pour. It mixes well and even after mixing quite vigorously I had very few bubbles! I set it into one of my deeper moulds and let it sit on a heating station. It cured great and it took the mica powder colors very well. I will be buying mostly Magic Resin going forward because every product I have used is A+++!

5.0 out of 5 stars Deep Pour formula works great for sealing too
Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2023

I had been buying another brand of epoxy, but wanted to find a more economical source, so I thought I would give Magic Resin Epoxy a try. At half the price, I was a little hesitant, but I found that I actually prefer the less expensive Magic Resin Epoxy. My wife says it is not as smelly. I feel that it produces less bubbles and is easier to work with compared to the more expensive epoxy.

Speaking of bubbles, I purchased the 4” Deep Pour Epoxy because I was previously having a lot of issues with bubbles that just would not stop appearing on walnut cookies in layer after layer of another brand’s table top epoxy. The walnut sapwood was particularly bubble prone. I kept thinking “Just one more coat and the bubbles in the sapwood should stop.” But those pesky bubbles kept showing up. So I decided to go off label with the 4” Deep Pour Magic Resin Epoxy thinking that the extended work time of the Deep Pour formula would give the bubbles more time to disperse before they would get trapped in the curing epoxy.

The results were beyond my expectations! The Magic Resin Epoxy was lower viscosity than the Deep Pour epoxy that I had been using, so the Magic Resin Epoxy flowed right into the end grain to displace the air instead of laying on top of the wood to trap the air and create bubbles. And with the extended working time I was able to push additional epoxy to the sapwood as the end grain soaked up the epoxy. Fortunately, even though I was using a very thin coat of the 4" Deep Pour epoxy, it cured just fine. After one coat, the heartwood was sealed (first photo). After the second coat, the sapwood was also sealed (second photo) and I could move on to the Table Top Epoxy! Problem solved! Based on this experience, I can’t wait to also use the Deep Pour formula in an actual Deep Pour.

I need to preface that this product takes a long time to cure. That is how it is able to make a deep pour without cracking. So if your expectations are faster cure or short pours use their craft epoxy. Read instructions for exact times, mine took 3 days

Worked fantastic for me on a large deep bowl pour. No bubbles or cracks but I used a pressure pot, so results may differ without one.

I will be purchasing it in the future and also recommend.

I have used several epoxies, including this one a couple years ago. At the time, it did not ever completely harden. I stored the remaining amounts and picked them up two weeks ago because I have a small project. The pout was only 1/2 inch deep. Its been 10 days - it is still not set. I followed the directions exactly, no luck. Not sure if I got a bad batch or what, but I wouldn't trust the product Too much effort on the woodworking before finishing (and ruining) with this product.
