Directions

Apply liberally 15-30 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply every 2 hours or after swimming/sweating. Use generously and spread evenly over all exposed skin, including nose, ears, neck, and lips.     Great sunscreen texture, not greasy, and sits well under makeup. I was previously using another sunscreen that always crumbled when I put makeup over it and don’t have this issue with this one.

    I’ve been using in the winter as well and I fine it helps to add some moisture to my face. Love that it’s reef safe and a mineral sunscreen!

    I’ve bought other sunscreens from blue lizard and haven’t had a bad experience.

    It has kept my face from being burnt all summer but I don't use it everyday since the bottle is half empty and the product so expensive. I won't be buying it again since I can get more and at better quality than what this is. I am extremely pale so even if there is a white cast I didn't notice it.

    Takes a bit of time to rub in but absorbs nicely and doesn't leave a cast on my skin, but I do have fair skin. Feels light and moisturizing and leaves a slightly shiny glow.

    Rosacea: I have very dry rosacea skin. I can't find any moisturizers that don't make my face red rashy and sore except for hyalurionic acid (I use vichy 89). I now use vichy89 + ordinary niamecide powder, this sunscreen as a middle layer, and apply coconut oil on top on areas that need extra moisture. My skin is so much less dry now and almost never irritated.

    Burning eyes: this sunscreen causes no burning for me at all.

    This is my second favorite sunscreen. Riversol is my #1 due to extra skincare ingredients and white canceling tint but I can't justify the expense when this one is good too.

    I had Ombrelle and so will compare with this.

    The blue lizard face one I hardly notice it's there, it's more comfortable, and doesn't leave a residue feel as Ombrelle's mineral sunscreen.

    However, the bottle could have been much smaller in my view to save on cost and environmental waste. Cmom Australian products that care for ocean chemicals but what about plastics?? Also it was a struggle to squeeze out amounts. No instructions - or I am incompetent in using sunscreen bottles. The tube opening and the cap opening do not align well, and was easier to just squeeze from tube opening directly.

    The cap does change colour but only one colour. It seems a gimmick. Even when various forecasts say the current UV is 1-2, but the cap still changed colour says I need sunscreen.......

    I will be looking for alternatives that have a bigger bottle, easier squeeze, and still the same chemical consciousness but just care more about plastic waste. But if blue lizard is on sale again with coupon then I will consider it.

    I love this mineral sunscreen. It says it's for sensitive face and I would absolutely agree. Every other sunscreen, mineral or not, that is labelled for face always irritates my eyes even if I don't touch my eyes. It's just the fact that is on my face and near my eyes it causes them to start becoming watery and itchy. This one does not at all and it has been so nice to be able to wear sunscreen on my face again daily. It isn't cheap but for me it's worth the price.

    I am in my early '40s and started noticing some changes in my skin. My favorite foundation which had SPF in it was discontinued so I had to find a new foundation along with an SPF and decided to give up trying to find two in one.
