Works great
Our old 20+ year old lutron fan switch died. These are the same price as those, but has wifi control! Install was straight foward enough, stuffing it all back in was the trickiest part. Works fantastic and now I can control from my phone or Alexa! It's our second set. I tried my best to glue the broken ones back together with epoxy, but they just snapped in under a year. This is the way!

The ceiling fan switch was very easy to install.
The labeled wires which makes replacing the old switch with the new one straight forward. I like this better than just having the wires labeled with a sticky label (the treatlife switch has a sheet of labels to label the wires coming from the wall before or while removing the old switch so you do not get mixed up).

After I had installed the new switch, On the smart app, i clicked the + button to add a new device , selected electrical and Switch (WiFi). The app prompted me to choose the WiFi network and enter the password. this only works with 2.4 GHZ wifi. It then asked me to press the on off button for five seconds, after I did that it took a couple of seconds for the app to detect the switch and few additional seconds to finish setting it up. Since I already have other treatlife products, I already had my account linked to google home. I opened google home and the new switch was available. I changed the name of the switch and saved it. After that I was able to control the fan switch by voice commands.
No need to pull a chain at arm's length to vary the fan speed. I can start or stop it with Google Home and even vary the speed remotely using the Smart app.

Just got the switch delivered today and was able to install it very very quickly. The instructions were easy to follow, I had a little trouble with the app but my wife was able to get it working with Google fairly quickly. Talk about convenience. Just ask Google to set your fan speed and you sit back and relax. Well built switch seems like a quality piece of equipment and it didn't cost that much. I highly recommend it, going get yours today!

I found the switch easy to install having wired things like this before. The app is user hostile and it's difficult to setup with Alexa. When you try to set up the app and connect to the device it whines about needing to connect via 2.4GHz and tells you to change your network but no idea how to accomplish that and if you need to reconfigure your phone or something else. I tinkered with it for over an hour with multiple resets of this switch. Finally it says it is connected. I did not change any settings or anything. Ok, so now I have a "Ceiling Fan Switch" in the Treatlife app. The problem then is that I have 3 more of these to install and need to label them by location. For example, Bedroom Fan and Bonus Room Fan, but there is no way to change the device label. I then worked on getting the Treatlife skill working in Alexa. That took 20 minutes to finally see that Ceiling Fan Switch in Alexa. I don't know what will happen when I add the next switch. Very disappointed in the App.

Update: Treatlife contacted me and told me how to change the name of the switch so I upgraded the rating from a 3 to a 4.

Awesome wall switch for fan control. It has taken awhile for manufactures to have reliable in wall fan controllers with built in speeds. Simple install but make sure you have a neutral wire in your box. This Wi-Fi switch needs it like most others. Color coded and labeled wires makes it novice proof. Fits nicely beside my treat life 3 way switch. Indicator lights for fan speed are nice bonus. Easy to hook up with the iOS app. Fully flash able with Tasmota firmware for MQTT applications. I flashed with wires.
In my install I had to remove the old remote controller from the fan. Make sure if you have existing controls you bypass them.

These were great for a few months but in the past month or so I've had 4 go offline. Needs to be reset. Eventually it won't connect at all.

I'm disappointed. Unfortunately cannot recommend anymore.

Treatlife blamed my network. I have close to 50 of their devices. Most work but randomly they will need to be reconnected. Don't blame the customer. Once the defective units are trplaced they are ok. That said, too many need to be reconnected which totally defeats thr purpose. Go with another brand.

I read the reviews and manual and decided that I wanted to install this. The quality of this switch is very good. Unfortunately, after pulling my old switch and old fan, the electrical wiring of my room did not match to fit the electrical wiring requirements for this switch. My house is old and I blame this issue on the builders. Nothing wrong with the product but I had to return it since I couldn't use it.

Fairly straightforward to install, the provided instructions are good. Make sure you have a neutral wire or else you can't use this control. I like the features, since I can use both G Assistant and Alexa with this. At nearly $60 I won't call this inexpensive (hence the 4 star rating), but you do get what you pay for in terms of convenience, and the quality is good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Smart Switch for Ceilings Fans without Lights - Buy This!
Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2022

I'm an electrical engineer and admit that I'm a bit of a control freak. I try to consider every use case for my family and guests, and I like all my smart home controls to be perfect. I've used about 4 different fan controllers in my quest to find the perfect solution, and I've finally located the near perfect solution with this Treatlife Smart Ceiling Fan Control.

I liked this controller so much that I bought 7 more, and I'm taking the time to share my experience with you. I review products that I really like or ones I dislike (and want to warn others about). My goal is to pay it forward in exchange for all the other great reviews I regularly read on 鶹. My family members and I are not employed by Treatlife and received nothing in exchange for writing this positive review.

    PROS:
+ Intuitive: no lighting control buttons that do nothing on fans w/o lights.

+ Elegant: simple modern looking design.

+ Button feedback: click response feels great with a pleasing "click" sound when pressed.

+ Simple: they have nailed the WiFi setup process. Much easier and more seamless then Belkin WeMos (which have improved over the years but still aren't quite as simple and seamless to setup on your network).

+ Smart: Google assistant integration via the Home app was also simple and flawless.

    - Button Lighting: only on when fan is on, and dim enough to not disturb bedroom sleepers. 4 individual lights indicate fan speed along the top edge with one larger light on the on/off switch. Lights can be disabled in the app, but arn't bright enough to need this.

+ No Fan Motor Buzz: unlike light switch dimmers, this fan controller sources enough power to the fan motor (even at low speeds) resulting in a fan motor that happily spins away free of any buzzing. FYI, I am using Minka-Aire Roto that are whisper quiet with this controller, but that buzz loudly at low speeds with Belkin's Wemo WiFi Smart Dimmer (where their web FAQ used to recommend this product for fans).

+ Labels: includes high quality wire labels as an extra professional touch for the next owner of my home.

+ Support: one of my 8 fan controllers died during install. Treatlife customer service was awesome. They immediately shipped me out a replacement. Totally hassle free. Nice to see that they have quality English speaking staff standing behind their products.

    CONS:
    - Button Light Leakage: light from the integrated button LEDs leaks around the bottom half of the fan controller disturbing an otherwise beautifully lit product in dark rooms. This is a minor issue, but a step that a good mechanical/industrial design engineer could have solved.

    - Button Light Brightness: button lights are difficult to see in a very bright room or outdoors. I would rather have lights like these that are not too bright in a dark room, but a setting to boost LED brightness would be nice besides the simple LED on/off setting in the app.

    - Google Assistant Vocabulary: Can't turn on can and set its speed in a single compound command such as "turn on family room ceiling fan to high" as you can on smart light dimmers. Instead you need to use a chain of 2 commands such as "turn on family room ceiling fan and set family room ceiling fan to high". The fan remembers the last speed it was set to, so this is only necessary if you want to turn on the fan AND change its speed. This product understands "high, medium, and low" as well as "1, 2, 3, and 4" for fan speeds, but not percentages like (100%, 50%, etc).

    TIP:
+ Guest WiFi Network: If your WiFi router has a separate "guest network" available, then I recommend using this for smart devices that don't need to communicate with each other. Many consumer smart home companies outsource their firmware/software engineering to other countries. Some foreign governments may request backdoor access to smart home devices sold in the US. As a security precaution (to protect personal data from devices on the primary network), consider connecting smart home devices like these fan controllers to your guest network.

I hope this review helps you on your own smart home journey. Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works like a charm

So this was exactly what I was looking for. The ceiling fan in our living room does not have a light and I was about to order the fan/light switch but I took a look at the TreatLife website and noticed there was a fan only switch. Easy to install, but yes you do need a neutral wire. So a neutral wire is NOT the ground wire and it is not one of the two wires that you normally see on a switch (those are the load=light, outlet, etc and the live wire). The neutrals are a bundle of white wires that are 99% not going to be connected to a switch or outlet, but just nut capped off altogether. Anyway as soon as I turned the breaker back on and opened the TreatLife app or SmartLife app (either one, but I used TreatLife so can only speak to that), and told it to add a device, it IMMEDIATELY found the switch. It then has you connect the switch to your wifi and WHILE that process was occuring, Alexa told me she found a new device from the Treatlife Skill (which I had already added and linked to my TreatLife account).

Dealing with a 3rd Party Remote Control:
My fan does have a 3rd part remote control unit up in the canopy, but the purpose of moving to this switch was to make it voice-controlled and get rid of that awkward-looking fan remote. The description of this switch does say it does not work with fans that have built-in remote control, but that is when the fan itself has it hardwired in. What I am talking about is this white box that you have to install yourself when you install the fan. Older fans came with those remote units, but it isn't the same thing as the modern fans where it is built-in. So if you put one of those white boxes in with the fan, you are good to go with this switch. But here is the key, first I noticed that using the wall switch for my fan did turn it on and off (off or fast really) as long as the old remote was set to have the fan run. If the old remote had the fan off, the switch didn't do anything. So I used the old remote and turned the fan on high with it. Then I took the batteries out of the remote and filed it away in storage. Now the fan would turn on and off at the switch. I install the TreatLife switch, let Alexa find it and bam I now have a voice controlled fan. You can also remove the white remote control unit in the fan canopy but mine is 20ft off the ground and took 3 hours to install (fear of heights, fan on a 4' extender pole, fear of heights) so I am not removing it. Alexa has the 1-4 fan speed but you do have to say "Alexa turn the fan to #" to get it to work.

    Using Siri:
If you don't have Alexa, you can still use Siri. The TreatLife app allows you to create "Tap to Run" buttons in the TreatLife app. Once that button is created, you can tell it to add it to Siri. Once it is added to Siri, you can now have an iOS Shortcut (Shortcut app) button that you can add as a widget or use with Siri voice control. Siri does not have a way to set the fan control, so you create multiple Tap to Run buttons in Treatlife that set the fan to different speeds and then have a Siri shortcut or command for each one. You just have to name them "Fan 1", "Fan 2", etc in Treatlife so then you just say "Siri, Fan 2" and it sets the fan on 2.

    Using Google Assistant
You can, but I don't have a Google Homepod (or whatever they are called) and since I have an iPhone, I don't use Google Assistant, although I do have it installed. I did play with it and once Google Assistant is connected to TreatLife your devices do show up.

I was looking for a smart fan control for my master bedroom. I am a big fan of dimmers and switches from another brand, but they don’t have a similar fan control offering. Hence, I thought I would give this a shot.

Overall, if you have basic, electrical knowledge, insulation is easy. This works relatively well in multigang applications. it does not take up a large amount of space in the box. It does require neutral wire. I found that it just took a little bit of shifting and use of a couple receptacle spacers in order to get it to line up well with my face plate and other controls.

Compared to dimmers from another brand, I find the lightning to be a little bit blurry, and not a sharp. It’s just not quite as clean of a look.

It has four settings, and it remembers the last one that you use. Once installed, the application allows syncing with Google Home. From there on forward, the integration is awesome. I control it, and all my other smart devices largely from Google Home.

The feel of it is a little lightweight and less hardy than the controllers. I have it paired with, and a lot of my Luton and other devices. The button pushes aren’t nearly as solid as the other devices I use.

But, all in all, it works quite well. It looks good, and it’s a lot cheaper than an equivalent from Luton. As mentioned before, the lightweight and not as sturdy feel of the buttons are the only thing that might make me want to look at other devices in the future. But, I would have no pause about purchasing again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Speed control works with Alexa voice & routines! No buzzing noise :)
Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2021

    Works exactly as advertised!
I have had issues with other fan speed control switches making a 'buzzing' noise at the fan and/or the switch.
The TreatLife brand does not have this problem. After installing, my fan is just as quiet as it was on a 'dumb' switch.
A few things to keep in mind:
Be sure you have a neutral (white in the US) wire behind your current switch before ordering! This will not work if you only have hot (line) wires. If you have a normal old switch, the neutral (white) wire will NOT be attached to the old switch. It is likely tucked back in the box with a wire nut (see my installation photos)
This smart switch is just for the fan. If you have a fan/light combo, you will need to have 2 wall switches - one for the light, one for the fan. TreatLife makes a variety of switches, plugs, and lightbulb products. If you have 2 switches (4 screws on the plate) this switch will work for your fan. you will need an additional switch for your lights. My installation photos are for a fan only (no light) replacing a single switch that also serves as a junction box for another light in the house. My photos show 1 black line-in, 1 black line out, 1 black load-out, 3 white neutrals, and one bare ground. Your installation will likely have fewer wires.
The installation kit includes screws, wire nuts, a faceplate, and stickers to label your wires.
The free TreatLife app (second picture) makes setup simple & offers full control of on/off and speeds. You can also create custom schedules (also free) to turn your fan on/off/speed on day(s) times(s). As long as you have Wi-Fi in your home or office, no additional equipment or subscriptions are needed - it's all included when you buy the switch.
A quick note on Alexa integration. Others have commented that you can not control the fan speed with Alexa/Google. I had the same issue at installation, where you could only turn the fan on or off, but it fixed itself after a few days. I can now ask Alexa to 'set the fan at speed 3' and set speeds in custom routines.
At installation, Alexa added "Living Room Fan" with the "Smart Home" icon. If I asked Alexa to change the speed, the response was "Living Room Fan doesn't support this."
I reached out to Tech Support to ask if the integration was not supported yet, as this is a fairly new product. Customer service is e-mail based. A reply may take a couple of days, but they are friendly, helpful, and actually do fix issues!
A few days later I asked the same question, and to my surprise, Alexa said "Ok" and the fan turned on at speed 3. The icon changed to a graphic of a fan & everything has worked perfectly since!
If you have the no speed control issue, see my last picture. The red arrows is Alexa's settings window without speed control support. The green arrows are after a couple days & speed control worked. Not sure if there is any way to force the change, mine was automatic - be patient :)
Nice modern look, I could not be happier with my purchase!
