    I was looking at the cheaper multi brand battery lights that advertise more lumens but when the price dropped (slightly to 99cad) I decided that the Dewalt product would be the better choice to ensure that my expensive Dewalt batteries would be protected from over discharging.

    The light itself is well built and solid and has many great design elements. It has 3 brightness settings and is sufficient in brightness for a light of this type. Switch is in front of the light in case it’s hanging. Impressively the dual threaded (1/4-20 & 5/8-11) (tripod) mounts in the handle are in a single aluminum piece and not individual inserts. The handle even has a centered slot for hanging on a (long) nail or rod (see pictures). The handle will rotate 360 degrees around the light with 19 significant detents to hold it position on a flat surface or while hanging. Inside you can see large aluminum heat sinks for the leds so hopefully this will light up for a long time.

    The only design element missing is a folding metal hook in the handle or light body similar to the one on the DCL050 which I also have. Such a hook would allow the light to hang on a shorter nail or even eyebolt.

    This unit is rather heavy especially with the recommend 4ah battery (larger batteries will block the handle from rotating 360 degrees) so a strong stable tripod is recommended.

    If it had the folding hook that some of the other designs incorporated I would have given it 5 stars but overall I am very happy with this light.

    Update April 2021
    I added a 90lb neodymium magnet with 1/4-20 thread to to handle for mounting to metal. (4 pack on 鶹)
    It will easily hold it on my kubota with a 20v 5AH battery on my kubota. I added a couple of 1/4” fender washers as the thread was just a bit too long and not worth cutting. Holds it from above and just unscrews to remove.

    I'd been using a old 500 watt halogen work light and while vacuuming I unknowingly dropped my Dyson hose on it melting it to uselessness so I decided it was time to retire the old 500. I purchased a couple of LED small lights that were ok but not worthy of taking the place of my 500watt so I continued my research till I found this Dewalt flood light and I have to say I'm impressed! Bright with 3 brightness settings and I can put in a tripod if necessary. It's rugged and built very well. I'm surprised that there aren't more tools stores that sell this light. Nevertheless I highly recommend it if you have a 20 volt dewalt tool set. It's just as bright as my 500 watt but doesn't need a cord and won't melt expensive items.
