Money tree’s leafy topknot of foliage makes this little tree a favorite
Reputed to bring good luck, money tree is used in applications of Feng Shui
Money tree (aka Pachira) is a popular indoor plant that features several trunks braided together; it looks very lush and tropical. The large compound, hand-shaped leaves offer a topknot of bright green color and a lovely lush appearance. This treelike plant looks beautiful as a floor plant for your home or office. Outdoors, money tree can grow more than 50 feet tall, but stays much smaller indoors. Money tree can grow more than 10 feet tall over time.
Money tree is related to hibiscus and cocoa and comes from the swampy areas of Central and South America. It likes warm, humid conditions, and does well in average household conditions.
Reputed to bring good luck, this little tree is a favorite plant for applications of Feng Shui. Money tree is frequently used as a specimen for bonsai, as well, and can develop a fat, dense trunk.
Money Tree plants are:
- Great gifts
- Symbol of prosperity & good luck
- Pet friendly
- Live indoor houseplants
- Delivered fresh from farm
From its braided trunk to big foliage, money tree is a gorgeous focal point
Live decor -- small to tall
Lush, live plants offer freshness in home decor. This multi-leafed mini tree is sold in various sizes, but won’t grow more than 10 feet tall. You can pinch off the tips of each stem as your money tree grows if you want to keep it full and from getting too tall.
A lucky plant
Reputed to bring good luck, money plant is beneficial in other ways. Many studies have shown that raising indoor plants is part of a healthy lifestyle, both physically and mentally. Sharing your living and working spaces with living houseplants have been proven to be part of a healthy lifestyle. Plants are nurturing, improve production, decrease anxiety, and help cleanse the air of toxins.
Great for gifting
Money plant is a popular housewarming gift because of its association with good luck. Houseplants in general are excellent gifts. If you're looking for the one-size-fits-all gift, think plants.
Pet Friendly
If your indoor pets have the tendency to nibble on houseplant leaves, money plant may offer a solution – leaves out of reach. The topknot of foliage on leafless stems keeps leaves up and away from pets. It’s also considered nontoxic by the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center.

Product description
Money tree (pachira) is said bring good luck & is a favorite plant for applications of Feng shut. The tree offers shiny, hand-shaped leaves that lend it a decidedly tropical appearance. You may also see several money trees grown together in a single pot with their trunks braided together. This is common way to make it look more decorative & doesn't harm the plant at all. No matter which way your money tree is shaped when you get it, the plant does best in a bright spot & regular watering. This is a good houseplant if you tend to overwater plants, as it appreciates (but doesn't need) constantly moist soil. Being a tropical, money tree also appreciates abundant humidity. If the leaves start to have brown, crispy edges, placing it with other plants or near a small humidifier can help. Money tree is frequently used as a specimen for bonsai, as well, & can develop a Fat, dense trunk. If you're looking for a cool houseplant, money tree is definitely one we'd recommend because of how easy it is to grow & it's delightful character. - Reviewed in Canada on March 7, 2022Verified PurchaseI recieved the plant. The packaging was nice and secure, however, the plant looks like it has some kind of disease already. There are spots on the leaves, and many leaves are dried with yellow tips. Some branches were broken (maybe during the delivery). I was so disappointed as the plant does not worth the money I spent ($106)!! I contacted the seller and he simply said this is what it is and just cut off the damaged/dried leaves. I saw many good reviews about this order thats why I trusted it but when I saw my plant, I was very unhappy and regretful. I'm not even sure if the plan can make it with this condition and I have to throw it out after some time... unpleasant experience.

- Reviewed in Canada on March 22, 2022Verified PurchaseCertainly not worth $80. It is not anywhere near 16" tall. I feel totall ripped off. It is a healthy looking plant though. I've had this plant for 1 wk and it is dying!!!!! $80 for a plant that lasts 1 wk. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
- Reviewed in Canada on May 13, 2024Verified PurchaseI got this plant just 4months and few days ago. I followed all the instructions that came with the plant. Infact I even downloaded the app that came with it. The leaves died gradually. This is very disheartening. Please potential buyer, be guided. A piece of advice.

1.0 out of 5 stars Found root rot after 5 months
Verified PurchaseThis plant arrived beautifully. Really loved it. Had noticed a few weeks after receiving it that some of the leaves had started to turn brown and fall, I figured it was from the shipping process and just needed time to acclimate. I recently moved cross country and couldn’t bring any of my plants with me, but I’ve had many plants at a time. So even though I can’t call myself a totally verified green thumb yet, I am really good with plants. I love to take care of them and plants are just beautiful in general. I bought this one in May for a birthday present for myself. Around august I started noticing it really not doing too great. Did all the things I could, looked up info on this particular plant. I had hopes I could save it. It’s now November when I’m writing this, I’ve been really busy and stressed (who isn’t lately?) and didn’t remember to write a review before today. My plant has rotted. And I did not overwater it. I suspect it’s been going on since I received it, but now when I just touch the bottom of the plant it is completely soft and squeeezable about 4 inches up. Like I said, it’s been like this since at least last month, maybe before then, when I could feel the soft squishy-ness of the plant. So basically my plant is dead. I only remembered to write this review now because I have to sadly bury it. I didn’t want to write a review right away either because things like plants take some time to properly review. I’m really very saddened by this. It’s past the return window, my bad on that part. I know that even the plant pros still have issues with some of their plants. But I had bought myself this particular happy birthday to me plant as a reminder of hope that one day things will get better and for good luck. I realize this could just be a me issue with this plant, that I received a “bad” one as that happens with all products sometimes, and not an issue with the quality of all the plants from this company. Sadly, I was really looking forward to buying more plants from this company because I don’t have access to nurseries close to me, I live very rural now, out in the middle of nowhere and can’t just get a quick ride to purchase plants. I was hoping this plant would work out so I could build up my plant collection again and in my new home. 1st time homeowner and I’m over 40. I’ve always wanted to turn a room into a library/indoor greenhouse and was planning to here and was just starting. It makes me extremely sad that I won’t be able to take the chance to purchase from Costa Farms again. Was really looking forward to putting plants literally everywhere in my home, I’m talking 50+ jungle status. Lol. And I have a huge wishlist of plants I wanted from them and they seem to be the biggest plant company on 鶹 with the best reviews. Hopefully it was just a one time thing with me and I just received a “bad” plant and not an issue with the company’s products as a whole. I tried to look up contact info so I could talk with the company before writing this but can’t seem to find anywhere to reach them privately. Take this review with a grain of salt please, I don’t want to talk bad about an entire company when it could very well be a one time problem.

5.0 out of 5 stars Needed some Love, but still gets 5 Stars
Verified PurchaseNeeded a little love, but I still give it 5 stars.
The container it arrived in does have drainage holes! (some of the reviews said it did not). However, it is true that the container is pretty small and doesn’t have a lot of soil- it basically had no soil. I cut off the black rubber band around the roots and immediately repotted it in a larger container. I used “Money Tree Potting Soil”- also purchased on 鶹. I will save this cute container for a different baby plant.
The money tree had some white spots on a few leaves. I wiped it with a damp microfiber cloth. They came right off. There were two little dead leaves. I pinched those off.
It is about 14 inches from base to top, and has new leaves budding. It seems to be healthy and thriving! I left the green twisty tie on as well as the bamboo stick for now until it becomes more sturdy and rooted.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great small office plant
Verified PurchaseI bought a bunch of small plants for my office, including this one. I was hesitant to purchase a living plant from 鶹, but my fears were not warranted. All arrived healthy and in good shape. (One arrived with a broken vase, but 鶹 remedied that quickly.) Keep in mind, these are small plants, more suitable for a table than the floor. I have four on one small table. But they are pretty and I tell myself they are adding oxygen to my office environment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Saweeet!
Verified PurchaseThought this baby was a goner due to UPS but it looks good still with only a few little snapped branches but I’m hoping I can nurse them back. I included a pic of the box just because it was funny, I know it is in no way 鶹’s fault.
